ive owned this 850I for about 5 days.i did the heater core bypass last night and after i was finished pounded down 6 beers.while sitting in the car playing with the on board computer i made the cardinal sin and hit the code function, then as if that wasnt good enough i hit the 1000 and it displayed, then i hit set and it disappeared.i got out and felt that i locked the car with the key and set the alarm.this morning i go to unlock the car and notice that none of the door locks are recessed and i have no selonoid lock function.i open the door and the alarm goes off.i cant seem to reset it no matter what i do.i tried to start it but the ignition is disabled because of the foolish code that i input.it cranks but wont fire.the led alarm is flashing next to the shifter and if i open the door and the alarm goes off again my neighbors will shoot me.the trunk wont open at all so i cant get to the batterys to reset this whole mess.ANY IDEAS?

There is procedure for opening the trunk in case of battery failure, so you might try that-
Next to the trunk release button is a slot for your key-put it in, twist, and push up (with the key still in) to open the trunk.

You might also unplug your horns so the neighbors won't be annoyed :stickoutt

it is a temp sensitive relay thats causing the issue, the temps are in the low 40s here at night and the door selonoids wont function until the sun is on the car for about an hour.you can hear a relay cycling on and off in the trunk just prior to the system starting to work and then the doors open.i got a box of assorted selonoids that came with the car so i replaced the ones that were still clicking even after i got the trunk open and im hoping that will fix the issue.ill know this morning.

low batteries.
Check both batteries, and you will see that they probably need replacing. Again, you should replace both at the same time with the same size and type battery. These cars are VERY finicky when it comes to electricity, and when it drops below a certain point, all the little electrical gremlins come out and play...

These cars are VERY finicky when it comes to electricity, and when it drops below a certain point, all the little electrical gremlins come out and play...as a matter of fact the batteries should be suspect because although they are new they were allowed to drain down and go completely dead while in storage.i took them to autozone and they did a fast charge and said they "appeared" to be ok.this would explain the temp related issues in the morning.

Fast charge is exactly that, if your batteries are shot then you can fast charge them all day long - they just won't hold that charge for any amount of time.
Get yourself 2 new INTERSTATE MTP-93's ( Sam's or COSTCO has them for around $90 a piece - can't beat that price). Take the batteries home and SLOW charge them (2A max) for a period of 8-12 hours - charge them individually. After that, you should be good to go for quite some time, unless you have some faulty modules that suck up power when you aren't looking.
