Can some E31 owners give me some info about their cars? Eg, how is the legroom (for driver/passenger)? It is quite a beautiful car, but how is it...as a drivers car? Another thing, in my E32 I have ridiculous legroom (and I am 6'4") but my head is several mm from the headliner. How is that on the E31?

At 6'4" you are NOT going to like the E31 particularly if you have a long torso. Beautiful car for sure but not for the tall guys!
YMMV

Damn. That saddens me. Next to the E32, the E31 is my favourite BMW ever (next to the 3200 CS of course). love to own one some day.

I am 6'3" and I know of others taller than me that drive E31's without a problem. Try one on for size before you decide.
The seat has to lean back a bit and go all the way back for me. The steering wheel is down and all the way out as well. I have relatively even proportions between leg and arm.
It is comfy enough that I can drive several hundred miles and still walk when I get out :) That is hard to find in my advancing years.

I'm 6'3" and drive mine every day ... though I do keep the seat reclined back against the rear seats... more comfortable for me. I actually have a few inches between my head and the roof.

Your car color blue? With expensive/rare rims?

Wow a lot of tall men driving E31. I am 6 feet 4 inches (5 inces including my hair) and I am yet to find a comfortable setting for this beast. I am going by the storage tomrrow to get some pictures for those who sought it. I will have to play with the seat to get a comfortable setting. I am lucky though. I dont have the bulky steering wheel that the 92 850i come with. I have an airbagless momo steering wheel which is probably 6 inch radius/
