Don't you just love how they block off the freeway for 3 miles in each direction to protect 10 workers eating lunch? I know I'm going a little overboard here but COME ON! There is protection and then there is paranoia!

I also love how they reduced the already ridiculous 55-65 limit to 45. 45mph on the freeway? Absurd.

All this so they can add a damn HOV lane to the 51? Wonderful. Now when I am speeding I am going to have to put up with old ladies carpooling to their bingo game.

Not really... I conform.. I drop down my speed to at least 55 max.. typically around 50.. i don't care.. let people honk or get agitated with me.. the reason they have such huge fines and low speed limits in any construction zone is because many workers have been hit and killed...

same reason why street racing is dumb... taking off right when the light hits green... bad idea in my book... especially in AZ where red light running is in the top 10 in the nation.. and here in tucson.. where people don't look when they cross the street and cross when it says don't walk.. yeaaaaaa! *bump* "I think you just hit something"... "Yea.. probably a pothole" :devillook

Most people on the 51 are still doing 60+, at least when I'm driving. I get a little paranoid but even passing dps (on the side of the road) they keep going and aren't getting pulled over. As for workers getting killed, that's what hazard pay is for isn't it? (jk)

As to the j walkers..... I don't have ANY sympathy for them. I'll TRY to stop, but if they're dumb enough to do that eventually the laws of physics will catch up to them.

FYI: not sure if this is old news for u scottsdale people, but i saw an unmarked black intrepid pull over someone on the 101 yesterday. all the strobes were hidden inside the car; and i can't remember if it had one of those huge radio antennas (i don't think it did :az: )

The sweetest unmarked car I've seen and the ugliest unmarked car I've seen were here in Tucson. I once saw an unmarked.. whited out, dark ass tinted camaro (most recent body style) pull over 3 cars!! I was like.. ohhh danngg.. that sucks.....

and the most pathetic.. drive home to phoenix... heading west on the 10 just like 10 miles outside of tucson... some girl got pulled over by a bright green dodge neon.. that had to be embarassing...
