Just got my Euro LKM installed and have a question.

Does the Euro LKM make the MID read a faulty rear fog light signal when there is no rear fog lights installed?

And thanks to TxGR8White I have working gauges again finally, only took me 6 months or more to get them installed finally, lol.

Blake,
You can install the rear fogs (easy to do - takes about 20-30 minutes). You will need the rear fog light switch (usually on ebay for $5 - $10), as well as a pair of bulb holders (can get those from AUTOZONE/ PEP Boys/ NAPA).

Ethan flashed my E31's LKM. Turned out great!

what did he use to flash it? I tried BMW's GT1 a while back, failed, carsoft had no provision to flash, this was before we acquired Autologic though.
Ironically enough I was trying to go Euro -> US

As for going EURO to US, email me offline at scs763@aol.com

Once I had wired 'bulbs' into the rear foglights, I actually preferred the euro LKM for the 4x high beam feature, thanks though Steffen

I just bought the rear fog switch. I plan on doing the mod at some point sooner than later. I've got US lkm.

I suggest contacting Ethan...he is VERY accommodating and helpful! He ships you a reprogrammed LKM, and you ship back your your OE LKM.

*Disclaimer...Euro LKMs are for track use only and not to be used on on Public US roads*

Wait, the LKM has an EEPROM? Hm. Interesting. Is the E32's LKM also have an EEPROM that you can reflash?

Also, why would you want to reflash yours with the euro one?

Because when hit the brights you have the low beam, high beam, fog lights, and FTP all lit up at once = lots of light.

I drive around with low beams and fogs on when in low beam mode.

I think I am going to go with PIAA Intense white bulbs in all 4 instead of going HID, the PIAA Intense whites put out 4100K which is almost as much light as HID's.

How do PIAA Intense compare to HFRs? Filament? I was considering using one of those for my FTP and highs.

Be real careful there. That is ALOT of heat buildup. This is the reason I went with HID in the fogs and low beams, as well as LED bulb in the FTP. Everything stays nice and cool, from the glass to the wiring...

Not sure, don't know much about the HFR's, but the PIAA Intense whites put out 4100k and are equal to a 110w bulb but only use 55w.

Looks like you can only get the Xtreme whites for the FTP's still 4000K tho.

Thats the one thing that concerns me, really tho with the Euro LKM I am very happy with the lights now, maybe I'll just put Sylvania Star Whites in. Still pondering.

FTPs use H1s? I thought they used the same 900x. :shifty How can I check to see which is in there now...ie does it say on the bulb? :stickoutt

FTP uses H1 (at least in my EURO's they are). The rest of the bulds are standard automotive light bulbs.

I wonder if they make any matching color bulb for the 12V 21W (is there a better name for those duel fil?) bulbs used in the driving lights. :shifty

I have LED's there, and they are fairly close in color to the HID's

Just curious, what do you use in your FTPs? I am shying away from HIDs since they are "flash" lenses along with the high beams. HIDs are better for lows and fogs.

FTP has a "white" H1 bulb, the LED's were obtained from my partner's stash at Sick Puppy Motorwerks (you WILL need a resistor to keep from getting an error message though)
