Hi guys I searched on here and nothing came up and/or information were scanty. Maybe this will be a good way to collect all the information in one source specifically for E31!

If everyone with aftermarket rims can post the brand name, size, offset, and the size of tires they are running, that will help out some the new members and future members as well. A picture or two of the said setup will be nice too.

ACS Type III Monoblock Alloys (8.5in wide ET15 rims)

Going to 225/40-19F soon (next month or so), and use the 17s as my spares.

When the rubber needs to be changed, I am going to drop the rears down to 255/35-19R.

I have an 840 and the car is too anemic even with a 3.15 to need much more rubber then a 255 or 265 in the rear, unfortunately

YEee haaawww! My 4th Alpina wheel is finally en route from the UK to L.A. Hopefully by the end of next week I'll have my Alpina's installed. I ended up returning the Michelin PS2 255/40 + 295/35 since they'll rub (thank you (8Harry8, etc) Alpina wheel owners for enlightening me). I got 245/40 + 285/35 Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's instead as they don't make PS2 in those sizes. Oh well, I've been very happy with the P-Zero Nero's on my 8 thus far.

Cheers :D

As many know, I have finally decided on a set of rims. Now is the time to get your input on tires.

19x8 F offset 8 Tire: 245/35/19
19x10 R offset 20 Tire: 285/30/19

Are these tire sizes ideal? Car will be driven summer only (wet & dry) so I want something reasonably priced, nice aggressive tread, and minimal road noise.

Any suggestions? I am all over Ebay and Tire Rack and prices varry considerably. The brand names are overly priced. A good alternative is what I am looking for.

Also, is it imperative that the FRONT and REAR tires are off the same manufacturer? I will think so but what do I know.:)

This is a thread from my search on here but I will like to keep it current.

OZ Superlegerra III 9" & 10"x18 rims, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S "Z" rated rotation specific 245/40 & 275/35 tires. Minimal front spring perch clearance, but no rubbing. Rear has plenty of clearance. Needed 17"+ rims to clear oversized Brembo front brakes. Car is not lowered.

I'm still a fan of the AC Schnitzer (OZ Racing) type I or II wheels. Can't post a pic yet (still not enough posts), but I've got the Type I 17x8.5 front and 17X10 rear. Tires are 235/45 front and 275/40 rear.

I think you made a good choice to stay w/18's.

I finaly found a set of wheels that I like i'm just wondering if the offset is correct, They are 18x8.5 +13 front and 18x9.5 +15 rear or 19" with same specs,
would this work for my 850i??

For 30 minutes, I tried a set at a used/Tire repair shop, Only charges $20.00 to sample, they slightly touched on steep bumps or with a rear passenger, I could of did some altering on the protection plastic on the driverside to make it happen, But i didn't. You might be OK with the 9.5's, I have 10's and 285's, No issues.

Interesting. Was this after you had your rear lowered? I *might* be ok with stock rears.

Ok Thanks. The names above are the ideal tires but for the size of my rears and a car driven 4 months out of the year, I cant rationalize paying $500+ for 1 tire. Any alternatives?

I actually still have two 328mm spec setups.

The brand new Euro CSi kit posted a while back is still claimed for at present. We have not finalized it just yet as some great opportunities have come up for the buyer so I am patiently waiting. :)

I have another used vented 328mm rear setup that also retains the parking brake function and uses the UUC 4 pot calipers. This will likely be my hold me over until our new kit is designed.

Nice job with the Lotus calipers! We thought of using the lotus caliper, but passed since it would introduce quite a bit of rear bias, even with the biggest front calipers on the other end. Does that retain the parking brake function? What were/are the rotor sizes?
