View Full Version : June 22nd N GA Mountain Drive
count_schemula 06-22-2003, 11:51 PM Was nice to meet everybody. We had a great time.
The color of this car just does not come out right in pictures. In real life, it's an awesome color. My attempt to trade my car for it was rebuffed.
count_schemula 06-22-2003, 11:52 PM Not sure how so many Coupe pictures got taken.
count_schemula 06-22-2003, 11:53 PM Coupe is just a fun car to shoot.
count_schemula 06-22-2003, 11:55 PM So cute.
count_schemula 06-22-2003, 11:57 PM This is a very cool color. Carbon Black i think. It's black, with a hint of blue. Stunning.
count_schemula 06-22-2003, 11:58 PM The parking lot as shot by Andy Warhol.
count_schemula 06-22-2003, 11:59 PM The other drivers got nervous when Count Schemula whipped the camera out the freeway. Hey, at least I was not talking on my cell phone!
count_schemula 06-23-2003, 12:00 AM Nicely behaved on GA400 north.
count_schemula 06-23-2003, 12:01 AM Of the two M Coupes, only one went to the playground. Might be some other BMW cars in this pic. Not sure.
count_schemula 06-23-2003, 12:02 AM E46 M3 with SMG. Nice color as well. Father son combo here, both enthusiasts. Nice to see.
count_schemula 06-23-2003, 12:03 AM Regrouping before going to eat. Speeding makes you hungry.
aMiR M3 06-23-2003, 12:06 AM you guys have fun :)
count_schemula 06-23-2003, 12:06 AM Poor Geordie. He does not look this dufus in real life. Cute couple. Well... part of it anyhow. ;)
Ron we missed you. I can't keep stealing this M Coupe from my neighbor.
hah! Good shots!
Although... you'd think BMW only made clown shoes by looking at this thread! :biglaughb
BimmerDawg 06-23-2003, 08:44 AM  True!
Great pics...and I'll hafta agree with ya Danny, Anna is MUCH cuter than I! :biglaughb
MGRMLN 06-23-2003, 11:28 AM Awesome shots!
It was really great to meet all of you. I'm sorry I wasn't able come out and drive but I'll make it next time.
<I had a ton of work I had to do over the weekend and was way behind.>
It was fun.
Ron17 06-23-2003, 01:03 PM To all my ATL folk:
I'm sorry that I could not attend this meet, as I was very much looking forward to it all month long. Unfortunately, life's design had other plans in store for my time and I had to be up in Chattanooga, where I was needed much more.
God knows I wish my script had been written differently and that I was cruising around the mountains of North Georgia, tearing up some pavement and enjoying the company of a group of people that I've come to befriend.
I cannot promise that I will be at the next meet, as I don't know what additional curves are going to be thrown my way. However, I hope that things straighten out and that I'll see you all next month... and that I'll be in some sort of shape to be in your company (unlike yesterday).
Take care. Be safe.
Ron
count_schemula 06-23-2003, 01:14 PM Not raggin' on ya. Just you were missed. But you're still around to be missed and that's ever more important these days.
Hang in there bud.
Ron, I'm sure I speak for everybody when I say we understand that there are more important things in life than hanging out with a bunch of car geeks for the day. :D
You did miss a very memorable moment though Ron. I got to see firsthand that, yes, driving an automatic M3 DOES dull your senses...
At one of our gas station stops, as we're pulling out on the road again. I hear a clunk and the familar silence of a stalled engine. I look to my immediate left and who do I see, but Geordie trying to very casually crank up his car. I had caught him red handed though - your secret IS NOT safe with me! I only wish I had a video of that!

Hey, I thought it was in neutral!
You go to Hell, Jacob! You go to Hell and die! :D

Sure... I'll just cruise down there in my manual M3. After showing "the guy in charge" that I can drive a manual M3 without stalling out, I'm sure he'll pick someone up who has committed greater Car Sins than me. ;)
So you better watch out Geordie! It's like karma, these transgressions against all that is holy with cars will not go unnoticed!

So, since I've already killed one M3, does that put ME in like the seventh ring of Hell? :evil2

Cars are just things. They can be replaced.
You and I were lucky in that we did not take a life, but only that of a chunk of metal. We should count ourselves blessed. Life is not replaceable like cars are.
No one's going to Hell just yet.

Oh trust me... I think everybody that posts here has some "black marks" on their *permenant* driving record. Some just sting the pocket book or pride a little more than others.
BTW - according to that OT post on Dante's Inferno, I'm in the Sixth Level. So I'll be down to level Seven soon, maybe we can meet up and have a beer.
:devillook

Yes, it is Carbon Black. It is a black/blue metallic. Looks black in most situation but blueish in a very bright reflective enviornment!
Thanks for the pic and compliments. I am adding it to my collection!
It was great to meet everyone unfortunately after pulling out at our second stop we got behind 3 very slow moving vehicles and lost the pack. Somewhere we made a wrong turn. Oh well, my other half was having a heart attack up to that point anyhow. You should have seen all the fingerprints on the side of my door from her holding on for dear life! :biglaughb
