Okay, Preppy -- time to get your Dad "a-molding" ... :biglaughb ... show him these pics and say, this is what WE WANT .... This install is definitely one of the NICEST ones I have ever seen ....

You know, we could just overlay fiberglass on the particle board .. that would look WICKEDLY nice ...
Damn ... that took some skills to do ....
I'm inspired ... let's rip apart my car ...
:biglaughb :buttrock

That said --- how do you work with fiberglass anyways?? Anyone have a write up on it??
Can I use a piece of MDF board and just overlay fiberglass on top of it?? Or, do I need to actually make a "mold" per se ...??
Just curious ... man, this gives me so many ideas ... I just need to go purchase some extra panels from the junkyard to practice on ...

dude that is one of Alpine's Project cars. It goes to the big car shows and sits in Alpine's vendor booth. The owner was fully sponsored by Alpine.
you can lay fiberglass on mdf and paint on the resin and it will stick. So if you want curves then you make square angles with your mdf and then build your fiberglass over it to make it curve. then you can put Duraglass on top and sand it down to make it all smooth. Use light coat of bondo on final surface to get rid of pin holes and such.

How 'bout using "kitty hair" bondo... the bondo with fiberglass fibers in it?

Preppy -
This is just sick ... you can see the night and day difference b/w carpeted custom vs. fiberglass custom.

Thats one of my favorite M3's of all time. I remember seeing that in a magazine a while back, and at HIN as well.

The interior work is amazing... but it lost its BMW looking.

Noman's right, that is/was one of Alpine's project cars. Took them days to do that entire install. Not for the amateur. I thought the owner sold it off though and Alpine no longer has anything to do with it.
