I got a citation for crossing the "gore" (the striped area) while merging onto the connector. Dont get me started on how ticky tack weak that is for a ticket.

Anyways, I want to take a defensive driving course to take care of the ticket but the atlanta city traffic court is acting like im the first guy in history who wants to do this?

What the heck is the deal. Who do i need to talk to for this? Anyone with experience here?

Thanks

yeah, I was cited for something similar in Decatur. what I was told is that they only let you do traffic school if: A) the citation is more than 12 points or B) your license is in danger of being revoked because of too many points.

if you fall into either of those categories, look in the yellow pages for traffic schools, and call them for more info.

your fine is probably a little over $100, but you probably aren't worried about the fine, but rather the points on your license and the according possible rise in insurance rates. If that's the case, your best bet is to fight the ticket by getting it reduced from violation of a state law to violation of a county ordinance. You can do this yourself by showing up at court on your court date, or by hiring a small-time lawyer to fight it on your behalf.

send me an e-mail or IM if you'd like more info; I went through all this hooha in February.
