Iron Chef 06-18-2003, 02:41 AM I still don't like them! : P count_schemula 06-18-2003, 04:02 AM The chassis is almost as stiff as the Coupe. Should be quite a lil' performer... for a salamander car. ;) themadhatter 06-18-2003, 04:30 AM interesting - anybody know of any pics out yet? I wonder if they're going to really keep that motor or not. -Ron Dr_Bake 06-18-2003, 04:33 AM That thing is gonna set records... SilverStreak 06-18-2003, 07:20 AM Autoweek had a spy photo of a blue test mule not too long ago, different front fascia, dual pipes out the back, etc.... eurorides 06-18-2003, 10:34 AM page 18 in the new eurotuner, but no pics yet. MgnFicnT 06-18-2003, 11:11 AM I hope they make a coupe version bimmerpwr 06-18-2003, 12:24 PM So, it looks it will happen after all. I was quietly hoping that it won't which should make M Roadster and M Coupe stand out more in a sense. Oh well... But I am sure this car, when it comes out, will be amazing! MgnFicnT 06-18-2003, 12:29 PM Even if they do make a coupe MZ4 its going to look nothing like the MZ3 Coupes, the body styling is totally different Iron Chef 06-18-2003, 12:35 PM Yuh, it'll look too soft : P MgnFicnT 06-18-2003, 12:48 PM Possible Spy shot??? NO, just something i whipped up in photoshop Alex.M 06-18-2003, 01:51 PM Excellent news. Those things are slowly growing on me. Looking forward to test driving one soon. rlcanon 06-18-2003, 02:19 PM Originally posted by russian.mob Those things are slowly growing on me. Me too... What is the weight on the Z4 3.0? I assume the gearing will be identicle to the E46 M3? Should be in the 12's quite easily! Iron Chef 06-18-2003, 05:07 PM All gravy, sorry for being so picky. Just bored out of my mind at work. IslandS62 06-18-2003, 05:19 PM I can imagine the price tag will be quite shocking as well, judging by the prices being asked for the 3.0 Z4. $50K should be easy to hit with options. I'll keep my MCoupe, thanks;) 1995red318i 06-19-2003, 01:48 AM thats exactly what i was thinking. the price that the z4s are selling for now seem like a good starting price for a z4 M....but since the z4 are going for ridiculous pricing, the M version will be even worse. SilverStreak 06-19-2003, 08:33 AM If they give it the gearing of the E46 M3 with the 3.64's, given the Z4 3.0 is about 100 lbs heavier than the Z3 3.0 was, expect the MZ4 to probably weigh about 3200 lbs. I'd expect high 12's from the magazine testers, mid to low 12's for owners with seat time who know how to drag race :devillook, and 0-60 times in the low 4's. And I'd expect $50K for the price... Priced about the same as a Convertible Corvette, a little lighter, and tad less power... but a BMW, with BMW quality versus a Chevy... and considering an AMG SLK32 is $52-56K, and a Boxtster S is $55-58K, $50K sounds like a bargain when you look at it like that... HalcYoN 06-19-2003, 09:21 AM So far on the list of mags saying there will be an MZ4: Autoweek Eurotuner List of mags saying there will not be an MZ4: Road and Track Car and Driver Automobile Roundel Now, Autoweek got duped by Priddy and Co.'s shot of a 2.5 Z4 with an Aero package (it even looked like the owner was laughing about it). Eurotuner? Haven't seen it so they may have just bought the same "spy" shots of a guy getting groceries. The only thing out there that was halfway legit to suspect an M Z4 was shots of a mule that had mismatched wheels and dual exhaust well before the Z4 launch, probably a feasibility study. Since then, nothing - no MZ4 test mules at Spartanburg, no Autobahn sightings, no desert testing - nothing. BMW said there will be no M version of the Z4 at the Z4 launch. If you want an MZ4, do it yourself. Superchange a 3.0 and add a suspension with camber hats. People - until BMW releases anything hinting towards an MZ4, don't run down to the dealer and make a deposit, that is unless you want someone else earning interest on your hard-earned jack... SilverStreak 06-19-2003, 03:48 PM 3.0's like s/c's.... :devillook ken_vs_ryu 07-03-2003, 04:00 PM nabbed from roadfly.... http://members.roadfly.com/ar67duetto/Z4MAutocar25June03p12.jpg Adam P 07-05-2003, 06:28 PM Originally posted by mvf4s nabbed from roadfly.... http://members.roadfly.com/ar67duetto/Z4MAutocar25June03p12.jpg That article says the M3 has a "V8". Kmon, every time a new car comes to the market every mag. lies about it for the year or 2 before it was on sale. Just take a deep breath, and get one when you see it at the dealer! Adam P.. HalcYoN 07-05-2003, 06:33 PM What I find amusing is that people have deposits down on MZ4s. You are letting a dealer hold a thousand of your dollars when even BMW says there will not be an MZ4. Now the question I have is how many of these dealers know there will not be an MZ4 and decided to make a little money on interest or possibly not return deposits when it never happens... |
