Can you wax themjust like you do the rest of the car? Rob LmtdSlip 06-17-2003, 05:27 PM Do you know if there is a clear coat over the CF? I would think if it was a hood they would put clear over it as exposure to UV tends to turn the CF different colors. If there is Clear over it I would assume that you care for it like the rest of the car. Anyone else have different thoughts? You will want to protect it somehow from UV exposure. All of this of course assumes you arent going to paint the hood the same color as the rest of your car. E36 M Sedan 06-18-2003, 02:31 PM For the hoods I have worked with, i just use wax on it. Occasionally I will use a very light polishing agent, but that is when it needs it. If the quality of the hood is questionable (honestly, admit it to yourself if you got "a deal") because your care will change. I have seen these "great deal" cf hoods have the top layer start flaking after a couple of apllications of standard cleaner waxes or similar products. So if you got a del, be careful with what touches it. If it is high quality just use a wax on it to protect it. |
