Even tho i know some of you guys here are from the point of view that just add more power to your car and leave it the way it is, thats how it was built.
But maybe some of you have forgoten that the extra weight costs us more from the fuel stand point ,25Lbs here and 100Lbs there, when someone is sitting there in your E31 Dream machine They are slowing you down you can feel the differnce, when we are all done with are triming and dieting we will have lost that "spare tire" so to speak the Adult and baggage weight will be tossed out the window. So if other people can benifet from out mistakes or triumphs why not just sit back ,watch and enjoy the show.

Didn't know there was a controversy! :confused
IMO if you own a 8, or any type of car for that matter, you can do what ever you like with it. I will add, since you're on a forum everyone will have an opinion. Everyone has their differences but as long as people don't take opinions personal they're pretty much irrelevant. Some information is beneficial to some while its unbeneficial to others and vise versa. No matter what the information its still better than no information what so ever. I say do as you please. :buttrock

Just finished reading about this and I must say that although the "idea" seems intriguing, the company could have spent just a few minutes using the spell-check feature on their computer.
I would love to see more pics of these units installed.

So this runs of of electrical power??!! What is the current draw when it is making "HHO"? Please define HHO!

Sorry, but I am VERY skeptical about any automotive geewizz! Hydrogen generation in a very well known process and it requires a LOT of energy to produce any amount of usable fuel, plus the fact it is not a stable gas and require pressure vassals or storage at very low temperature.

There are very few short cuts for known chemical and physical reactions.

For now I will put this in the same bin as the turbo-nator and other $29.99 gadgets that proliferate the internet with scientific substantiation of actually doing anything except making the advertiser money.

I chased this a while back and one of the "byproducts" seems to be water mist ingestion along with the "cracked hydrogen".

I have done just water mist on several large vehicles and get very measurable improvements in mileage that way. My 460 cubic inch F250 Super Cab Long bed pickup went from ~10 mpg to a bit over 12 mpg from Portland to Tucson with it -- That seems to be about the same gain with a lot less work. Long before that I did it with a 350 Chevy van and gained 2 or 3 mpg there as well cross country.

A bottle and aquarium air stones and a bit of tubing usually did it on the older engines. Tap water in the bottle and off you go :)

The original that I saw came from one of the first issues of Mother Earth News long before it was commercialized. It was somewhere about the same time they came up with a low cost solar concentrator that could run a 5 HP steam motor for about $150. There were a whole bunch of other things tha are now worth millions in development contracts just for the back to earth crowd in the '70s :)

On early jets they would inject water on take off, (we called them "water wagons") make no mistake about this, the water at combustion temperatures will not break down to hydrogen and oxygen, it merely cooled the air as it was being compressed which increases the air density and allows for higher specific thrust. Later jet engine designs used high bypass fans to accomplish the same thing.

Water injection has been around for nearly as long as the internal combustion engine has to either increase air density or delay detonation on forced induction machines. For diesel applications water injection does not work but propane will. water mist on the intercooler fins will improve air charge cooling.

I used to follow all this stuff years ago but got disgusted on so many scams the wee purported to work wonders but had no scientific bases and most countered scientific fact.

Again if it were so easy or cheap, it would have been done, with all the emphasis on alternative fuels these days, if hydrogen were that easy to produce, fuel cells would be in wide application and use.

Terry's mention of Mother Earth News and their use of a Ball canning jar in the design has really taken me back......

At least I never tried the $50 underground house :)
