View Full Version : Ahhh.... Leatherique
jdmorris 06-16-2003, 02:56 AM Not my first time using the stuff, but man... nothing's better than gazing at your brand-new looking Modena seats after you've been scrubbing away with a toothbrush for over an hour. A couple coats of rejuvenator, a little sun, and a good scrub with pristine clean. Perfection!
98M3_4 06-16-2003, 04:59 AM Wow, looks great! I'll have to try some Leatherique...still using up the rest of my Lexol stuff.
Reck1ess 06-16-2003, 05:05 AM what color interior is that? verrry nice job man
jdmorris 06-16-2003, 11:45 AM Modena Natur
It doesn't look as orange in real life (sans flash). You can check my sig for the color in daylight - it's a little more beige than orange.
frayed 06-16-2003, 11:56 AM Damn, that looks incredible.
Gary-TulZa 06-16-2003, 12:21 PM  Wow!!!!
Estoril ART 06-16-2003, 02:48 PM Those seats look brand new, what an awesome product.
Just a question though, how long did you let the rejuvenator sit before using the pristine clean on the seats?
Cruzmisl 06-16-2003, 03:49 PM Shoulda took before pics!
jdmorris 06-16-2003, 04:44 PM Cruzmisl-
I tried before and after pics last time I did it, but it's tough to get a good comparison (lighting, etc.). I can put a little extra effort into it next time.
While Leatherique does take every last spec of dirt off the seats, it doesn't work any miracles; my driver seat bolsters have some light wear, and although the unbroken leather looks and feels perfect after an application, the areas that are actually cracked or a little chewed up still look the same... only cleaner. My hope is that the oil will stop the damage from getting worse.
Estoril ART-
I actually coated the seats once, let them sit in the sun for a day, then coated them again (without cleaning them off) and let them sit for another day. I'm not sure if the extra coats and time really provide any benefits, but in order to completely coat each seat I only end up using a tablespoon or two of oil (an ounce, maybe?) - whereas the instructions say to use 4 oz's - so I do it twice. What I've found to be the critical difference in getting things clean is really getting down and dirty with a toothbrush and lots of the 'pristine clean' when you take the rejuvenator off. I've slowly increased the amount of scrubbing I do while inspecting the results and I've come to believe that a soft-bristle brush can't wear the leather no matter how long you work at it. I don't stop 'til it looks like new, and eventually, it all does.

sirtiger 06-16-2003, 04:45 PM looks good, I think I will buy kit...
95DinanM3 06-16-2003, 10:37 PM Holy crap! That looks awesome. How many miles does your car have? I have the Dove Grey leather vaders in mine and they look nowhere as clean as yours (and I only have 44,000 miles) Granted, its a 95 but still.......Anyway, how does the Leatherique work on light colored seats such as mine?
Lemme know, because I want to try this stuff out. It seems to be a top notch miracle worker. Nothing I have used so far has worked very well.
bigmansM 06-16-2003, 11:06 PM where can i find some of that stuff and do they have a variety of colors to match the stock light gray seats. what is the company name and product name? please!
Estoril ART 06-17-2003, 01:34 AM Just go to www.leatherique.com
Rejuvenator and pristine clean is all you need.
jdmorris 06-17-2003, 03:06 AM No different colors for Leatherique - it's just a yellow liquid (both the oil and the cleaner). The stuff is surprisingly effective and I suspect it would work great on Dove Grey, but I haven't seen it myself. Where I was actually really impressed, originally, was on my door panels where people had been resting arms and elbows - the Leatherique returned that stuff to 'new' really easily since there was less grain to the leather.
95DinanM3- I'm at 51k miles.
Here's a closeup 'before' pic from the passenger seat bottom during my original application a couple months back. Basically, all the leather was dirty and dull looking. I don't have a matching 'afterwards' pic, but the leather now pretty spotless and has some depth or sheen like new leather would.
BAVARIAN323i 06-20-2003, 10:29 PM WOW! The Co. name is leatherique?

Thanks, ordered. I have been meaning to do this.
midlifecrisis 05-27-2004, 01:54 PM very impressive! great looking seats.
I'm waiting on my lexol to finish as well. Lexol works fine but just curios to see what difference leatherique will make.
