1...is there a way to see the current voltage in these cars because the 750 had a way to see the voltage however it had a different OBC (on board computer)...

2...what is the very best batteries and set up (solar charge? pulsating charge? a third battery?) in the universe for my beloved 850

Interstate MTP 93's
Optima's
Look for atlease 830 CCA's.

Wolf/Wokke can put a Voltage reading right inside your speedometer cluster, He's a member here.

When you get 15 posts, Could we see a picture of your car, We never get tired of seeing them, Welcome to the Madness...)

Does the optimas will fit normally in the drivers side trunk because the drivers side has more room and the drivers side has the fuse box and jack and ist hard to fit any other battery unless you make modifications and if so what kind???....would the safety lock bolt will still fit and lock the bateries?

has anyone fitted a voltage gauge in their car? how do they look like?? does the amber color satys the same or thepiccasso its chaged?

would side gage clusters be a good thing or I will make it look bad?

I am sorry to sound ignorant but I like to get all of your opinions, pictures are comming soon specially from the water pump replacemet I did thanks to you all help!

was great success!

The E31 OBC/MID has a hidden service menu that provides some extra information, including voltage. For more information, see e31.net - the service menu of the onboard computer (http://www.e31.net/OBCCodes_e.html). Code 9 is what you are looking for.

I have had nothing but problems with the various OPTIMAS I had over the years. Go with either the INTERSTATE MTP-93's or the big BOSCH. The MTP-93's have 850-880 CCA and the BOSCH have 1000CCA each. I had th eMTP-93 prior to the engine fire and they worked great - now have a pair of big BOSCH's

I can attest to the INTERSTATE MTP-93's. That's what I run in mine and they have performed well to date.

Maybe I exagerated saying adding screens and amps, I am sure that was a goos job for that particular car but it will sure not be for mine...

I just wanted to say that as an example for having a different setting than the original for example solar chargers or pulse wave modulators that keep the bateries charged and last more years as well as the option of addig aftermarket electronics...

by the way it seems like the optimas would not fit on the drivers side compartment unless you remove the jack housing...

Have anyone installed them yet?

Optimas are actually small, You can remove the jack and turn the battery side ways and it will go right in. They do support 2 fosgate amps adding up to 2800 watts, TV Tuner, MP3 Changer, Indash monitor, rear and front view Cameras, Ipod etc... With no problem and there spill proof, But! The MTP-93's are better/More powerful!!! I use Optimas because you just bolt them in and for get about them, I really like the Deep cycle as well, They cause no harm even if mounted upside down.

sweet!!! Optimas looks like the winners... however you mention that MTP-93's are better?...because more cold crank amps or because the cost its lower and gives you same power or what makes you guys decide whay is the best battery?

Optimas, MTP-93's or Bosh 1000?

I say optimas not because spill proof but because deep cycle...

why do you like MTP-93's? cause you never had a problem or cause everyone uses the same?

why did you decided Bosh 1000 because the cranck amps?

The BOSCH were in one of the parts cars I bought, they were put in about 3 weeks prior to my purchase. The MTP-93's were on the other end of my engine fire, and I just decided to relegate them to "lighter" duty elsewhere (they are powering Greg's electric gate).
The BOSCH has 850 CCA @ 0 degrees C and 1000 CCA @ 32 degrees, they have alot of juice available - something the 8 series really likes.

sweet!!! Optimas looks like the winners... however you mention that MTP-93's are better?...I should'nt have word it that way, I think they are the top two that i've ever used, I have them both and happy with them, When i have to replace a set down the line, It will be Optima's, Just too clean a battery and puts out.

900 CCA @ 0°F
1125 CA @ 32°F

This is a lot of cranking as well.
