Well some of you have seen my post for the futon FS thread and thus know we're moving.

So while we are shopping for a new home, we need a temp place to live.

Does anyone have any rentals on the peninsula (prefer Palo Alto, San Carlos or Belmont) that is renting either month2month or 6month leases?

I've been checking Craigslist and they're mostly 1yr commitments. Ideally I'd like month2month or 6months and then go to month2month. I have no idea how long the housing search will take.

Any help or leads is appreciated!

Thanks!

Yoda,

Send me a PM with your contract info and rental search criteria and I'd be glad to search the MLS for you. I'm a real estate agent with Alain Pinel Realtors and I work the Mid-Peninsula. I normally don't do rentals but I'm willing to help a bf.c member out.

The rentals on the MLS move fast, especially the good ones. If we move quick we can probably get you in to a good place.

I don't hear of a lot of month-to-months in Palo Alto, or six months. A couple come up occasionally but that is usually a unique situation. I'll ask for you.

calm3, thanks! I'll PM you in a bit. Sorry about the delay in responding. I'm out of town on business.

Mario, thanks! keep me posted!

My wife is thinking this is her/our chance to live in downtown SF. I'm thinking the commute to work is gonna suck! That plus only 1 parking space!!!

I want to move into the downtown area as well. And I agree, parking will suck!

Probably not worth having a car if you're going to live downtown. If someone needs a transitionary place to stay while searching in the city, my roommate will be gone for 2 months in Europe so his room will be open for that time. I'm in the Richmond District.

Yoda: I did the reverse commute from here to Palo Alto for a few summers. Wasn't too bad, about 45 minutes taking 280 down, not much traffic...though that was at 6:45AM.
