I usually go to my dealer in NJ, but I don't have the time anymore. Anyone have any recs for a decent place to get an oil service on my E36 M3? Hopefully cheaper than the $90 that the little garage wanted?
Geez, that's more expensive than my stealer...
Just do it yourself. One of the easiest things you can do on your own car.
Buy the oil from your local auto parts store and get a filter from your dealer (maybe $10 w/ CCA discount).

I'd love to be able to do it myself - but I don't have the space to do that right now..
I use mobil 1.

come where i work (http://www.adriamotors.com), we charge 40 for castrol GTX and 65 for Mobil 1, of course we cahnge the filter with it
If you have room to park your car, you have room to do an oil change.
Get yourself a set of ramps (or borrow them), chocks, and a drain pan.
Actually, the ONE time I had my BMW's oil changed at a shop it was in my hometown. I just brought in the oil and filter and had them do the labor. $10. :D
Plus, I know the guy so he was cool in letting me oversee the whole thing to make sure they didn't screw anything up.

yup, that was BMW Manhattan... I was kinda shocked when I heared those numbers
:eek2:
Compared to Lexus dealers, they charge me $45. I usually get my first oil change through dealers, then I do it myself going fwd. (Not the BMW since it does come with the 4yr/50K free maintenace)

DON'T GO TO BMW OF MANHATTAN FOR SERVICE EVER!
They scratched my car, put the engine back in crooked and damaged the volume/cruise control controls not to mention gave me a loaner car with a flat spare tire and a dozen other things wrong with it, had to have it towed back. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!
