View Full Version : More weekend wheel-ness
Staehling 08-16-2008, 06:45 PM Gonna follow smokum's lead and reveal the new wheels, but they won't be on the car until tomorrow, so here's a tease.
Going from my currrent 17x7.5 et20
to
18x8.5 et13
which should net me about 1.25" in fender fill / stance....
They meet my criteria of
nice lip:

and
clean solid spokes:

and
they're original wheels from a very well respected euro bmw wheel co.
and
they're lighter than the current ones!!
cheers
8eights 08-16-2008, 06:51 PM Tease!
Staehling 08-16-2008, 06:51 PM Need to get my hub-centric rings tomorrow, then pics!
wokke 08-17-2008, 11:01 AM 8.5 ET13 also on the rear? Doesn't that look a bit skinny???
Staehling 08-17-2008, 02:06 PM Won't be as beefy as you guys with the 10's and 11's, but will be a lot better than the current setup. May investigate a 1" adapter if I want to kick it out a bit more.
ELIBEEMER 08-17-2008, 06:44 PM My guess: Hammans??
Staehling 08-17-2008, 06:57 PM Right you are, Eli...
...too much crap going on hunting my idle problem to put them on, so here's the wheel.

UZ4PLAY 08-18-2008, 02:49 AM Nice wheels, one of my favorite....From experience be careful on the bumps. I have 18's 9.5 and had one rim crack.
Staehling 08-18-2008, 02:53 AM Good advice, UZ...it's a lesson I learned with 2 of my 19" Breyton Visions on my previous 8. Always nice and easy over bumps and potholes now.
smokum 08-18-2008, 04:08 AM MY advise to you WERD!!!
TxGR8White 08-18-2008, 11:04 AM now all you need to do is lower the car a bit...
...nice wheels (don't use spacers - they aren't a good idea on these cars)
Toy72 08-19-2008, 07:37 AM Kick Ass, Brother. I loves those lips, how deep are they? "2?
Staehling 08-19-2008, 12:28 PM Believe it or not, 3" lips on an 8.5" wheel!
:)
