I am looking to trade my VolvoXC70 on a 2001 X5 3.0 w/125,000miles. What type of problems should I expect with this kind of mileage. The vehicle has just had a thorough mechanical service, but I don't want to dump a bunch of money into it on a regular basis. Thanks

definately wouldn't touch the car unless I had thorough service history provided to me. Honestly, I wouldn't touch it unless it had a new transmission with a 100k mile warranty on it. Transmission is always the biggest concern with e53. Second on the list would be FSR, a/c unit, cv boots, oil seperator/hoses, really too many to list. if you want a car that you don't want to dump money into look into a cpo'd X5 or skip on the X5..I don't mean to say that it's terribly unreliable, just expensive at the mileage you're considering.
