I thought I was saving with the package I got. I still sold the extra ticket, but still.....
:shifty:shifty
Actually calculating it out, I am not too bad off.
I missed out on the hospitality tent, food and drink but -
$25 ticket
$5 Shirt
$25 for Friday
$10 for the program
(I would not go up if I got the MSOE ticket)
$40 vs $60. Eh ~ suppose I am not too bad off. Would have been extremely pissed if I spent $90 for the superticket online though.
Still

I've only been there once, and I got lost going there. Apparently Garmin doesn't really know where RA is. :) Anyone have good directions from Madison?
What's the deal with parking in the Corral? Can we just drive in there instead of parking in the grass when we get in?
Anyone from Madison want to caravan there? We'll probably take the m3, since it gets better highway mileage than her x3.

the corral is just off of the road that goes around the track, the corral parking is grass
Anyone from milw area wanna caravan up there?

My brother and I will be leaving between 8:00 and 9:00.

I'll caravan, but I plan to jet up there early. From Brookfield, I am going to take 45N-> 33. Take 33 E to 43/57. 43/57 N -> J. J West to 67. 67 N to the track.
IDK about Madison
Dusten, all parking is grass parking.
dustent 07-31-2008, 03:17 PM Dusten, all parking is grass parking.
Yeah, I remember that it's all grass parking, but last time I was up there it was just pretty much part wherever you want. What gate should I enter in to get to the BMW Corral?

To get there from Madison, I'd recommend taking HWY 151 North into Fond Du Lac. Then hop on HWY 23 East until you hit HWY 67. Take HWY 67 North to the track. It loops around back toward the west, and the new main gate is right there. Once in the gate follow the road (brown on the map) south parallel to the main straight. The BMW coral is in the middle of P2 parking section. There should be a sign near the road pointing to the coral. Plan on about a 2 hour drive if you use those directions.

Dude, you rock. Thanks for the directions. Hopefully we don't get lost this time. :buttrock
What time is everyone planning on getting there on Saturday? I see the first BMW race starts at 10, so we were going to shoot for a 9am arrival.
BrewCity11 08-01-2008, 04:27 PM Sweet!
"Badger Bimmer members are invited to a paddock tour and talk with the
BimmerWorld World Challenge racing team. The tour will be on Saturday
(Aug 9) at 1pm. The location of the BimmerWorld team in the paddock
will be available at the BMW parking area outside turn 14."
StealthBimmer 08-01-2008, 05:58 PM yes and also
During the ALMS races at Road America on Saturday and Sunday there will be a "bring your own food" picnic at the BMW parking area outside of turn 14. The club will provide gas and charcoal grills along with water and soda. The grills will be available on both Saturday and Sunday. The people's choice car show will be held on Saturday. There will also be track touring available on Sunday afternoon. See the Road America website for more information on track touring. We are working on getting a couple of the BimmerWorld drivers to stop by sometime during the weekend. We'll update this article when the details are know.

straight6pwr 08-01-2008, 06:18 PM turk, do you have an approx. date for when youll be swapping front lips?
nort0188 08-02-2008, 01:50 AM Won't make it this year. Hopefully I'll be at Blackhawk on Saturday, then racing karts on Sunday.
Count me in next year, though... must see new M3.

No problem. Double check the route on Google maps before you head out. Once you are in Fond Du Lac, you have to make a few turns to get from HWY 151 to HWY 23, but nothing major. I plan on getting there around 9 as well.
sachin528 08-02-2008, 10:51 AM *knocks on wood*
Tentative sale on my tickets and a free pass in. SCORE :woot: :woot: :woot:
Pointdsm 08-03-2008, 11:50 PM Wow, I never knew this thread existed. I payed out of my ass for normal priced tickets, but I'm camping friday - sunday. I'll obviouslt be parked and camped in the carousel, but will come stop over to the BMW area. If you see a black 325is say hi! This will be my first ALMS race at RA, I have no idea when all the really cool stuff is going on.
BrewCity11 08-06-2008, 10:11 AM "Hi
We should have your tickets in for the Generac Race by Thursday, 8/7 in the afternoon (approx 4pm).
The Student Life Office (Campus Center 3rd floor CC-377) will be open on Thursday, 8/7 until 8pm and re-open on Friday, 8/8 from 8am until 5pm. If for some reason, those hours do not work for you in order to pick up your tickets, please let me know and we will attempt to work something else out (ie: drop the tickets off at Public Safety).
If you are paying by check, please have it made out to MSOE for the exact amount. Your order should appear below"
So, for those of you (Dusten) who live outside of the Milwaukee Area, this may pose an issue.
Who out of the Milwaukee crowd is leaving early? I will be at the Brown Deer Road Park and Ride at 8:15 and ready to leave at 8:30.
Stealthbimmer or Murdoc, will either of you be leaving earlier? If so, would you mind taking Dusten's as well as I think he will make it up there before us.
I will be picking up the tickets Friday morning and can deliver (within reasonable distance) to Stealth and Murdoc. If i could just get cash when we meet, that would be great.
Any further comments, keep it to email since its quicker. I don't want to check this thread for meeting updates every hour.

dustent 08-06-2008, 11:00 AM Yeah, I'm always the one causing problems. Damn you Madison!!!
Looking at the map, it would take me about 1 hr and 40 mins to get to the Brown Deer Rd park and ride. How much further is RA from there? I would only have to leave a half hour earlier to get there.
Do you think it's possible to just leave my tickets at the RA gate, and I can grab them when I get there? Or should I just plan on driving through MKE on my way up? I'm flexible.
MrEvoMan 08-06-2008, 11:06 AM Probably a good hour from the Brown Deer park and ride.
I'm most likely going to be going up as well. Too bad I missed out on the MSOE deal, but I'm not currently a student there. I had been a number of years ago. :D

No problems. I was worried you would be up there before us and waiting for your tickets.
If you head up there straight from Madtown, how close to our expected arrival time will you be? (If we leave the Park and Ride here at 8:30, we should get to RA by 9:30 if the traffic isn't bad)
I just don't want to keep you waiting, you know.

Well, if everyone is meeting at the Park and Ride to drive up, I'll just meet you guys there. I'd rather caravan up with some other BMWs. :) Who else is meeting there?

AFAIK:
Turk (me) - E30 325is
Levent (my brother) - E30 325is Vert
Mark - 911 TT
StealthBimmer -? E34 Touring?
Murdoc - Saabaru?
Dusten -E36 M3
Add to the list if you know more.
Sachin, i'm sure you will be leaving earlier anyways. (and if not, you'll probably do 110 on the freeway and leave us behind again)

110? :shifty Max I do is 10 over. I get there quick, but that's as fast I go. I am not interesting in getting to know WI cops. :shifty
Don't plan on me being there - but if it so happens that I am by the Park N Ride around 8:15, I'll stop in and head up with you guys.
I'll contact some of the Pandl's people and see if they want to convoy as well.
murdoc158 08-06-2008, 05:34 PM I'm not sure what my plans are yet. I'll check with my buddy and let you know. As far as meeting you at the Park and Ride in Brown Deer, I'd be headed 15 minutes the opposite way. If you want there is a Wal-Mart on HWY 33 (Saukville/Port Washington exit) just east of I-43 and I could meet everybody there. Otherwise I could sit on the on ramp ready to go and wait for the fly-by. Not sure if I'll be in the Saabaru or my buddy's E46 yet. E46 needs parts thrown at it, but no real time to do it before the race.

Bryan (MrEvoMan) is also going to be meeting at that exit. Should we pull off and meet you guys at the Wal-Mart? Or do you want to stage on the ramp? I've got Bryan's cell number and can call when we get close.
MrEvoMan 08-07-2008, 11:18 AM murdoc and I can definitely be waiting for you guys at that exit. We only live about 10 houses apart. :)

Doesn't matter to me. Might be easier to just pull off into Wal-Mart. That way you don't miss us if traffic is thick.

Yeah right. My laptop has an 80 gig hd, so 74.5 usable space. approx 11-12 gigs of programs, which leaves 62 gigs available. Kohler and Generac take up 22 gigs (Raw+Basic files). :rofl :rofl :rofl
All my Raw files are going into the 1 TB external HD I bought.
