Hello, as it is clearly a buyer's market for X5s, I'd like a little bit of advice, general or specific. My goal is 2005 or 2006/30,000 miles or less (Nav would be nice, but not necessary), in the $25,000 range. Based on what I'm seeing, this looks very achievable. I would just like someone to give me an example of a recent deal (best if it is your own!) on an x5 with similar specs. I would also like a warranty up to 100,000 with no time limit, as I understand these are possible to get. Since I will be splitting miles between two cars, I'm thinking I'll be putting 10k miles a year, so ideally would like to be covered for all of the big ticket items for say around 7 years. I've heard both good and bad stories from long-term BMW owners and really don't want to be stuck with a fixer upper after year 3 or 4. What is a good deal? What is a realistic warranty? Are there any specific questions to ask in regard to 2005 or 2006 models? Thanks in advance.

Need some help here. I'm realizing that the interior of my Lex is "feature rich" (Nav with Camera, real leather, etc.) in comparison with an X5 I saw the other day. This was a 2006 X5 with V6, Charcoal Gray/Black Interior, No Nav, 1 Disc CD, Automatic, with 14,000 miles. Was listed at $35k and the best price they could give me was 34k?!?!!?!?!? Meanwhile another guy here came on and got one with 9000 miles with NAV and Premium package for $34k? And he gave me the whole speech on how 40% of these go to Germany and they can get twice as much for them there and that's why their values hold. How much wiggle room do these guys really have?

you can expect private party v8 X5's 2005 MY w/ 30-40k to go for around 25-35k....

I am looking at a 2005 4.4 with 43k for $25k right now, so these deals do exist

go for the V8.....much much faster and better fuel economy
