Well, it's official. There is another new member of the family.

I'd like to thank Tom Winston (Winstontj) for this latest addition.

Tom lives in Charlestown and he has some 02's and a normal car as well as this car pictured below.

Tom's original plan was to strip it and prep it for racing. Unfortunately Tom has decided to get married and has had some other things pop up and had to abandon his project. After trying to sell the car with ALL the race parts he had accumulated for $1900 - with no takers - he decided to ditch the "rolling shell".

Enter ME...

It currently sits in running/driving condition - interior is gutted save a drivers seat, cluster, dash, steering wheel - and on Saturday he is taking the seat, the wheel, the tranny and driveshaft and leaving me with the motor, the shell, the diff, and all the parts he removed...

My plan is to put my M40 with tranny and driveshaft in, put the carpeting in with sound deadening, put the heater core and other such goodies back in, the rear seat, some front seats, a steering wheel and then some bumpers and go from there.

The plan on this car is $500 or less TOTAL. Tom was gracious enough to drive it to Kensington Autoworks for me in NH and has left it there. (read between the lines - this car was free)...

Anyways, welcome to the family. This is about as Rust Free as a car of this age can be in NE. A cali car that moved to the vineyard and found its way to Tom and now to Me. Going to try to make it nice enough to do something with - i.e. DD or sell for someone to finish the work Tom started, I'm continuing...

Enjoy!

that's ok... I got my formal job offer today... a little less than I thought it would be... well less than I was lead to believe it would be... so... I have some decisions to make...

I will be putting the M40 in the E21 and putting it back together. But I don't know if I'll be able to hold onto it... All depends how much more $$ the Touring and the ti suck out of me...

I may put the E21 together and then sell the ti... I just know that 4 cars is not possible based on the offer I just got... The insurance alone! haha.

don't feel sad... we all should complain that we can't keep 4 cars... tough life i have..

what are you going to do... I really wish I could just have 2 cars - the Touring and the iX - alas I just don't have the bandwith to rebuild the iX motor right now. Perhaps the E21 would help me get there...

yes. plug and play... although the 1995 may need a little tweak.. e-mail dimitri about it..

why thank you sir... ti is coming along. new steering wheel is in. CD43 on its way from germany ($300 shipped!!). Two of the 4 rims I need are in (other two arrive aug 4) the shift boot is at bav, floor mats on their way.

All I need to do then is get an alignment and possible do the rear trailing arm.

I'm going to try the alignment before doing the arm as I'd rather save it as 1/4 of the way towards a 5 lug for the Touring!

I will be renting a spot in brookline for the next year... I'm sure at some point a car will be left in it...

Good deal on the CD43. I paid $300, but that was over 6 months ago.

What steering wheel did you install?
