Ok first off with the cars information. . .

Its a 1996 GTI VR6, black, newish trans, newish timing chain and guides, smog exempt, around 180k, heavily moddified. . .

Mods:
EuroSport Big Valve Head w/ around 40k on it
Schrick 268 Cams
2.9 Clone intake manifold
GIAC chip dyno tuned with mods
Cold Air Intake
TT/Borla Exhaust w/ highflow cat
HR Cupkit
Neuspeed Sways front and back, and front strut bar
EuroSport rear Strut Bar
Poly front bushings
Poly engine mounts front and rear
BM Short Shift kit
AutoPower custom powdercoated 4pnt roll bar
Corbeau CR1/A4 race seats with Corbeau 4pnt harnesses
Old school Momo shift knob
Gutted rear
Jetta front end
Smoked Euro Ecodes
Badgeless grille
Eye brow
Faded CF hood
Textured top euro bumpers front and rear(textured part needs some dressing)
Euro VR lip
Euro radiator support
Shorty antenna
20mm spacers in the rear and 15mm in the front
Black powdercoated DE's with bald T1R's
Black headliner
Smoked front fogs and long smoked turns
and on sweet ass rear emblem
...oh yeah, its smog exempt.

There some other stuff but its just not coming to mind.

The bad parts of the car are simple, drivers window regulator broken (again), no stereo (I have a reallllly nice set up if you want to buy it separately), the paint, racing seats need new covers (100$ ea from Corbeau), and some other VW shit.

The catch!
The engine siezed on me. I believe it lost oil pressure and the crank will not turn by hand at all. I havent torn into it yet but I just want it gone.

Ay Skydeezy, I was under the impression once you sold the car it was no longer smog exempt, may want to be sure on that one.

Getting hookups on smog != smog exempt. I've seen them registered too far from a smog station, but that would end as soon as the new owner transferred it.

Anymore info on this magical smog exemption?

Yes, due tell.

A co-worker that lives out in Jullian just informed me the other day that she doesn't need to get her car smogged EVER, and it is a regular gas sipping Camry (no hybrid, diesel, etc). I'm thinking distance to a qualified and equipped smog station is the ticket. And as mentioned, if that is the case, new owner needs to smog it if they don't live in the same area.

That doesnt make sense at all, how could living too far from a smog station get you exempt?

thats not the trick, I'll leave it to skylar to explain though.

Because it would be too hard for you to get smogged. I think if you're outside 50 miles out or something, you qualify.

I'm pretty sure any interested parties would want to know if they're going to get it or not, he should probably give more information if he's gonna use it as a selling point.

and I am sure that if some one is interested they will PM him and he will give them more information. And that is not the selling point...it's just an added bonus ;)

but this is also a public forum and this type of information shouldn't be published publicly. As HellrotZ mentioned, if somebody was interested in the car, I'm sure Skylar would have no problem disclosing the info, he told me how he did it and we only have mutual acquaintances. I just know that if he posts up the exact way he did it on here, there will be tons of people who will follow, and before you know it, it'll be posted over all the tuner boards online. Who wouldn't want to be smog-exempt?

Its completly smog exempt from any biennial smog inspection no matter where the car lives. The service is available and if you PM me I will explain, just not now since Im on a break at work.

Sean, it isnt transferable like I've mentioned but since its my car and I know the guy personally he would just redo the paper work with the new owner.

Its sorta quick though, ask Triastan Amanda or Sean. :shifty:
