View Full Version : Cleanout the garage...
NHskibm 07-17-2008, 01:35 PM Ok, I've tried this before but want to try it again...
I have a basement full of crap I don't need.
I'm willing to let it go cheap. I.e. you make an offer, meet me in NH (home), Andover (work), or Brookline (GF's home) and it is yours for something...
Things I have...
Full set of amber for E46 pre facelift coupe.
Driver's side non-HID headlight for E46.
E46 pre facelift clears for front
E46 non sport suspension incl sways with 45k on it
E46 airbox (K+N in it) I think
225/40/18 Pilot sport plugged but with plenty of meat left - great spare
Other assorted stuff that I need to inventory.
I want it gone so much so that I'm look for any offer. $5, $10, $20, whatever. So long as you meet me at a place I have to be you can have the stuff.
I have some E30 US grilles, a chrome kidney, a spare driver side fog, a 4 spoke steering wheel, and other stuff as well. Same deal.
I'll try to get a better list together tonight but I just want the stuff gone.
Thanks!
Dub-Dub 07-17-2008, 03:31 PM Not to hijack your thread, but this is a great idea... I am sure a lot of us have random parts taking up space. Too much of a crapshoot to hope someone is trolling Craigslist when you put them up... actually having an audience of local BMW people is the way to sell BMW parts...
I know I have a few things mis-purchaced that are just lying around
I'm new to the regional forum, maybe this is commonplace.
NHskibm 07-17-2008, 04:13 PM I think I may load up the car for one of the CSP meets and just bring the stuff down and have a give-a-way, buy me a leamonade, etc day...
Parts with dust are worthless to me...
Dub-Dub 07-17-2008, 04:15 PM So true... I had a whole stereo set up collecting dust in my basement, and it was the hardest thing to give away... but christ, I just want the shelf space back! Take it!
ESMcBlurM3 07-17-2008, 10:13 PM mmmmm lemonade
TopasBlau46 07-17-2008, 11:06 PM I have lots of the same stuff, both halogen headlight units, no corners though they are in real shitty shape, tons of amber and stealth amber bulbs with 180 and 150 offsets, halogen trunk lights.
NHskibm 07-18-2008, 10:32 AM mmmmm lemonade
went down there on a random sunday... had some... sooooo good.
m3fuz 07-19-2008, 08:04 AM Great idea - I have stock E36 M swaybars, stock springs, rear rotors/pads, and other assorted stuff.
ESMcBlurM3 07-19-2008, 12:18 PM since everyone else is doin' it...
i've got fucked up door panels, an OE underpanel that's in good shape, shift knob, and shift/e-brake boots
NHskibm 07-19-2008, 12:31 PM Great idea - I have stock E36 M swaybars, stock springs, rear rotors/pads, and other assorted stuff.
hmm... stock E36 M swaybars... thicker than 318ti??? Hmmm... springs too... hmmmm....

cancel the order. they are just the stock boots. perfect shape
Sam 330ci 07-19-2008, 03:13 PM Everyone should just pile their crap into a corner of the garage, take a pic, and host it. Then we can all SEE what we could use.
I know I have so much E36/E46 lighting stuff/e46 floormats, hundreds of bulbs. I'd give them away to free up space.
NHskibm 07-19-2008, 04:04 PM cancel the order. they are just the stock boots. perfect shape
the 318ti and the regular E36 don't share the same boot... And I'm not sure I can do an arts and craft project to make it fit...

really? wierd
NHskibm 07-20-2008, 09:50 PM yeah, the boot on the ti is symmetrical. Similar to an E30. E36 regular is more similar to an E46 (although not the same)...
the ti is a bastard child of the E30 and E36... Thus far in my experience with it I have found it closer to the E30 mechanically...
m3fuz 07-21-2008, 06:03 AM Oh yeah - I have a Racing Dynamics front strut bar too.
burn740i 07-21-2008, 11:27 AM hmm... stock E36 M swaybars... thicker than 318ti??? Hmmm... springs too... hmmmm....
"Tim, it's just my DD, I'm not gonna go all crazy with mods. I need to focus on the Touring and iX."
:lol ;)
NHskibm 07-21-2008, 12:33 PM Yeah yeah... that's why I bought this on friday:

Did you really? That's the exact wheel I'm getting...eventually.
How will this mount up?
Itsablurr 07-21-2008, 12:42 PM I'll take a single (or pair) of e46 stocker headlights if they're just sitting around!

Me wants an E46 M3 wheel with airbag.

The wheel that Howard bought comes with the slip ring and airbag. I want

It comes with wheel, airbag, and slipring... Perhaps I'll drive the ti and wheel down and we can do the swap of some brews one night...
then you'll know!
I'll take a single (or pair) of e46 stocker headlights if they're just sitting around!
I've got a single chillin'. GF is in the process of moving to brookline. I'll be moving her this weekend. I'll throw it in the trunk for you if you want to take a swing to coolidge corner on Sunday.

I told you I was going to get it.. Decided not to get the same one for the E30. The tri-color and perforated leather doesn't quite work for me in the Touring.

Oh, I know what it includes. I've had it in the shopping cart, shipping information filled out, and almost checked out about 5 times. I'm just not sure if it's a direct plug n' play to my e36. I've heard it's only a direct pnp with the '99 e36's. Still debating between alcantara and the perf leather, too

The slip ring is all you need as far as I know. And if not I'll let you know if a couple weeks when it shows up!

Perfect. I'll wait until you get it installed...then it looks like I'll be making the purchase. So...alcantara or perf. leather? I wish it wasn't a DD - or it'd be alcantara all the way

I figured you'd get the other one for the Touring. I think I remmber you showing me one without the M stitching?
NHskibm 07-21-2008, 03:00 PM Nah, the one I showed you had the M stitching - at least the one for sale now.. Although I have the E30 version of the wheel without the perf and stitching in there now. Really would be a waste of $350 (that is what the E30 wheel costs).
If anything I'd get another E30 regular one as the one in the touring is actually an E34 Mtech II wheel and is slightly larger.
E- I had alacantra in the E46 before I got and M3 black stitched wheel (Tim, try www.tischerbmw.com (http://www.tischerbmw.com) the wheel is $330 and you would need to just find an airbag).
Anyways the alacantra got nappy on me. And honestly it FELT great even with being a little nappy, but it doesn't look really good IMO. I think the new leather and Perf looks awesome.
All I know is that in a couple weeks you will all be able to see it. Or look at the sig for Themadrussian as he has the same wheel.

That link is dead. Maybe I should just convince my dad to get the alcantara wheel, which I think he wants anyway, and I'll just take his old one.
NHskibm 07-21-2008, 04:05 PM E- I think I'm going to try to make it.
T- that's not a bad idea. google tischer. I forget what the name of the site is.. They are a sponsor on E46Fc

pennpen 07-21-2008, 07:40 PM i thought alacantra was made for driving with gloves, something about the oil in our hands or something like that, idk thought i read that somewhere
