I found the 'notch' that is built into them to be the most interesting part. It accommodates the seats bolsters that way.

In talking with 5er owners, they say they adjust and stay at any height you select, adjusted with the most anterior portion (switch or lever is there IIRC).

I especially like the lack of intrusion into the center console pocket area, relative to the 'wide' options.

I have a few projects ahead in line to speak :shifty, but this is most likely the route I will take.
