Hi guys,
I'm the one trying to sell my 850i in classifieds:
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1007013
I'm trying to drum up more interest to move her along- I was wondering if anyone had suggestions, had leads or a recommendation on where I should be on the price for my car.
It's been a great car but I need to buy or lease a newer company vehicle.
I realize that originally I priced the car high (can you blame me, I like my car and think it is worth top dollar)- Mostly I did so to offset lowballing, but am curious to hear other e31 owner's opinions are on where this clean low mileage, beautiful and serviced 6 speed 850i should be priced.
Thanks.

Given the current state of the market, economy and so many 850 for sale if you get 15K you're lucky.....Hate to break it to you like this partner....
I got a 97 850CI with 16.500 Miles on it for 20K price range.... You do the rest of the math...
To be honest if I was you I will rather keep it than sale it for pennies.....
That's my .02

Unfortunately right now its a buyers market. I haven't seen a 91 sell for 20k in a long time. I'm not trying to critisize your maintenance on your car bytheway just commenting on the obvious. Looks like you haven't done anything with the cooling system and the rear suspension bushings. Also its comming up on mileage for the drive shaft replacement. Hard to say whats going on with your heads depending on what oil you use. And then theres the lovely power steering hoses. Your enterior looks great. Outside looks great as well. 6 speeds are hard to come by but if you get 15k you'll be lucky. I know..its hard to swallow.......Honestly...I love my company, daily commuter 850i. You couln't pay me to trade it for some rice Hybrid.

Thanks for the opinions guys.
At 15k-ish I would expect the car to have more miles, be in less condition than mine, need some maintanence and possibly have a slushbox (auto).
As she sits this is one of the few 850s that has no leaks! It doesn't need anything, and things have been changed as needed/scheduled- the other issues you mention aren't issues with the car yet.
I suppose I'll drive it some more until someone offers a price I'm ok with or a good trade. I realize how rare proper color combo 850i's are, especially in lower mileage (<100k) with the 6 speed manual gearbox. I feel the the condition of the car and a few of the other parts (which I'll likely take off if the offer is lower) needs to command some sort of premium, otherwise I wasted a lot of extra effort maintaining the car...
Thanks again!

Keep it. You wont get anywhere what youre asking...not that it isnt a beautiful well maintained car but the market isnt there. To give you an idea I bought my 91 6speed Dinan Twin Turbo car for 20........needed a few things but a lot of car for the money. I was only able to get 12 for my immaculate 840 with wheels and everything else you could do maint wise........

keep it and sell that Vette in the garage. You can always find another one of those.

I think you're probably $5k too high on that with the market these days...

It's a buyer's market on everything, not just cars! It's what the market will bring - will PAY!
If you are selling in this market to lease. You will loose all-the-way-round.
SELLING CHEAP TO LEASE (Company usage - lots of miles w/a large payments at the end of the LEASE)!
I would sit on the 8 for awhile until after the '08 Election when the economy gets better.
P.S.
If you will be leasing, then you will have a "LOW or NO" Down with very low payments. This is the only reason for leasing.
Food for Thought!
NEVER LEASE!!!!!!!!!!
