Since I have been working in the car audio industry for about 13 yrs, I have managed to collect a lot of head units, amps and audiocontrol equipment.

I am looking at getting a single 1 omh stable amp to power all the speakers and then a box with 2 12" with its own amp for the bass.

Any help would be great.

Why 1 ohm? You looking for power or wanna slightly upgrad the oem amp?

I have used 1 ohm or 1/2 ohm stable amps for the longest time, what I have found is that these amps can handle heat better. They last a lot longer. I had my pioneer head unit shut down after 8 hrs of play and my amps never did. I am assuming that the E31 has a lot of oem speakers, so if I replace all the 5 1/4 speakers with 4 way 5 1/4 speakers with more power, add a dsp unit with a spatial restoration unit for enhanced front imagining of the door speakers, the extra power will be welcomed.

I have a mint pioneer DEX-P88 and DEQ-9200 this is one set up or I might just used a MEH-P9000R and add on CDS-P5000 unit.

And then I have all my Audiocontrol cross overs, I am in to sound quality more than how loud it is.

I like sound quality as well, It was a major plus to have the batteries and all the speaker leads in the trunk, Redoing Hi end audio in these cars was a lot of work, IMO! Do to Limited "Open" Space.

Save as much weight as you can my deck is running my separets front and rear and 1 amp will be running my 2 8" subs, im going with the infinite baffle enclosure style.
CDT speakers and eD subs simple and sweet ,loud enough for me.

there are a lot of high powered decks, but they will never replace a 4 ch amp. I have seen a lot of mosfet amps blow up inside the deck.

The dex-p88 has no power will need an amp.

For some decks you do need another amp, i had thought about getting a full system amp but naa it willl just be a 2 channel the deck has all the goods to mod the sound if i need to . The CDT speakers dont really need any kind of EQ thats what i really love about them and the fact that they dont take alot of power to get good sound from them.I had pioneer before and the current one i have was my girls sony deck Sony CDX-MP70 the late model JVC decks are also very good She had bought a new one and was as strong as the sony.

Alphasonic had an amp stable down to 1 ohm you can use and its really clean with the THD down to or below 1%.....keep it clean if you want quality sound. I have used it with great success in different applications. I think MTX has some clean powerful amps that may work for your application.

My car is a Dinan TT set up with IHI water cooled turbos (RHF model I think). The car makes 11 pounds of boost and is supposed to be mid 500's on HP.......
