Comptemplating replacing my spark plugs. In checking the OEM it gives two choices for the V8 M60 and m62 engine: BKR6EQUP @ $16.63 per ($133) and BKR6EK @ $7.70 per ($61). Other than being priced twice as much, what is the advantage of the BKR6EQUP plug over the other? On EBAY the sets are offered "Buy Now" at $75.50 (EQUP) and $61 (EK) for a set of eight. Anyone purchased a set lately and have an definitive opinion on choice? Which provider offered a better price than above? Thanks,

You actually have 4 choices if you include Bosch plugs. I'm using the Bosch F7LDCR which are available from the local BAP-Geon import parts store. The only thing is that these are the double tip plugs (platinum?) and I remember hearing something about how we should be using the single tip copper core plugs. But I haven't found any of those, even the dealer only stocked the double tip plugs at a much higher price!

The only "Bad" plug that I have had in my V8's was the Bosch Platinum + 2 and I would imagine that the +4 is just as bad.

The tiny little center electrode kept wetting out on cold start and if you started the car to move it and then restarted it to move it back without letting it warm up it refused to start again until you pulled the plugs out and dried them off :(

The V8 seems to dump a lot of fuel in on a cold start.

Try the Autozone Bosch plugs they have listed for the 840.
