I met Steve at the Devon BMW show and was amazed at his car and the modifications he has done.

What are the rules on federalization these days. I remember in the early 80's in the states with all the cocaine cowboys bringing grey market cars in. Is the process still hard and are the $ more or less today to do the transformation
Thanks

process is more difficult now, but not impossible. Expect about $10-$12,000 cost though...

$10,000 to $15,000 added to the purchase price for a LHD. More for a RHD if I remember correctly.

So given todays prices and the weak dollar there are really not many bargains to be had :(

For the extra $10 k you spent for Federalizing you could have the equivalent of SteveP's supercharger and brakes on your car and not have to convert it to LHD :)

Of course neither car would then be legal in California due to the friendly chaps at CARB.
