I have searched the internet cannot find the 20 pin type special tool only D shaped tools to connect to laptops etc where do you buy this tool and what is the difference also is there a place to plug the D shaped tool on the E31 1997 E34 1993 and E39 1996 as I have 3 cars I need some type of diagnostics kit now because the E34 has a fault at the moment. Last July 13th I was driving home in heavy rain had gone about 15 miles when the car lost all power and came to a crawl miss firing and white smoke I tried to keep going but the smell was bad I stopped the car and after pushing sensors etc and starting the car each time it was misfiring as if the plug leads were on the wrong plugs , after many a temps the car did start and drove like nothing was ever wrong this lasted it about 4 weeks then one day I pulled in for petrol and when I started the car to drive off it was doing it again no rain so I pulled over to side of garage turned the car off and got out I could here a clicking noise when I opened the bonnet passenger side small sensor when I disconnected it the noise stopped I then pluged it back in the noise had stopped I then started the car that was a year ago and this year on July 3rd I had drove to Dublin about 110 miles from home the car had sat for about 1 hour while in dublin got in car to come home drove about 2 mile and back came the problem it was over an hour before I got the car running again did not matter what I tried it just missed and banged then turned the key and everything was ok I have benn driving it ever since BUT DONT WANT TO GO TO FAR FROM HOME sorry that was lon winded but I need that diagnostics kit ASAP |
