So I'm on my way to the golf driving range with 2 of my buddies and all 3 of our golf bags in the trunk. I see some xenons behind me so I pull over into the right lane and stop at a red light. Turns out being a pearl white IS300 with some punk teenage kid driving it (although it looked more like he was taking a nap in the damn thing as he had the seat so far back and was hangin off the steering wheel like a fuggin monkey). I hear him drop his car into neutral and rev (had all my windows down)...I look over at my friends and we all start laughing our asses off. The guy sees this....revs again even higher, lets the revs drop back down, and finally puts the slushy (tiptronic i believe it was) back into D. Light turns green and I engage the clutch and then give it ago...hit the rev limiter in first AND second and had about a 1.5 car length lead on the guy. Hit the hazards and watched the guy make a quick U-turn in shame.

We're on the way back from the range and I drop one of my friends off. The other friend stays and we decide to lurk around for 5 mins or so for some quick races before we head home. Come up on this 2001 Mustang GT at a stoplight that has by far the SWEETEST exhaust note i've heard in my life coming out of an american V8. Not knowing that we were both gonna race, we both took off gradually and around 35mph we both punched it. I hit the rev limiter again and shifted....did the same in 2nd but the bastard took the fuggoff! At about 80mph or so he had 3 car lengths on me. I was furious! I've spanked the 96-98 gen mustang GT's before and thought i'd at LEAST keep up to one of these. We stopped again at a stoplight and I pull down my window, so does he. "Saeed!!!!!!" WTF :confused: ?? i'm thinking to myself. "It's Joseph man! How's it going?!?"
"ohhhhhhhhhhhh Joe! What's happening??"
Turns out it was a semi-good friend of mine for 3-4 years ago. We do a little chit chat at the red light and both pull up the windows.
It's a definite 0-godknowswhat shootout now. Light turns green and BOOM we're off! I had a perfect launch and he just sat there spinning tires for a while so I got a good jump on him. I shifted perfectly into 2nd and 3rd and all I heard was the bastard fly right by me (have I mentioned his exhaust sounded badass?!?!?) This time he only car a car length on me up til about 110 or so. It turns out he has some crazy exhaust with like no cats...some sorta H-pipe or whatever....an HFM CAI of some sort...and some other gizmos (i think he mentioned pullies). He won fair and square but it was definitly a fun race.

After we both went our separate ways, I was a little pissed at first for losing but then realized that I was racing a near (or maybe even higher) 300hpr monster and that I was bound to lose. We even went through some nice long twisties at about 90mph or so and he stood strong. Oh well.....next time I guess. Times like this when I wish I had a honda or some shit....could dump about 3 g's into and have an semi-insanely fast beast....no luck for me though....i drive a wallet breaker (bmw). :rolleyes:

to hang with even a stock gt. those thing run high 13's with professional drivers, but any bum could drive it in the mid 14's. with those mods, his car has the potential of being in the low 13's. unless im mistaken, all you have is tri flo, upgraded suspension, and cai? you should take your car out on the track and get your 1/4 mile tested, cuz you more than respectably hung with a new stang(a modded one at that), and earlier you beat an S2000. let us know your time(my guess is 14.6-14.7).keep up the good work bro!

But your friend was also in the car thats why, Weight makes big difference in cars with no so much HP. NOw had you been in a dodge viper then your friend wouldnt have made a difference b/c theres so much power.
