Don't know if this has been posted yet, but does anyone feel like there should be a back row of three seats instead of two? I checked one out today at the local dealer, and to my surprise there's not a middle seat in the back. It's only a 4 passenger car.

3 seats would broaden the appeal, surely, but it seems to me that the car is meant for an empty-nester type consumer. Personally, I like the 2 seats. Even though my kids are still fairly young, I very rarely have more than 3 passengers anyway in my X5 which seats 5.

Wouldn't the demographic wanting/needing 5 seats just get an x5 or volvo x90 or whatever. the x6 is cool in part because it is NOT just like all the other crap out there!!!! no one needs more than 2 kids anyway ;) and the hump gives them both their own "space".

I am overall meh on the X6. I think the outside looks great but for its size the interior is so inefficient.

Yes, it is Only a 4 passenger SAV.
I just ordered the X6 50i For my wife and the kids(2 girls)
we have the Porsche cayenne Now and it will be great. Much sportier and it does away with the unused space. if more room is what you need, then check out the X5.
BMW knew what they were doing. The cayenne was surprisingly nimble for its size but you feel it at the pump. the X6 will be similar just lighter and less inviting with a 4 passanger set up as aposed to a bench for 3.
I can not wait. ours will be here this Fall.
