View Full Version : Let's try this again
332 RustBucket 05-30-2003, 01:05 PM Ok, forgot to add one little thing in my last post.
What would a Automatic M3 with a supercharger (stage 1) get for 0-60 and 1/4 mile.
Thanks
SilverStreak 05-30-2003, 01:08 PM Too vague, too many factors; driver, track, air denisity, temps, which tuner's s/c, boost/psi, cooling, other mods, exhaust, tires, 2 door, 4 door, what year M3, gearing, weight, etc....

Driver - Good but not perfect he weighs 203.74859672 pounds
Track - englishtown
Air Density - heavy ( I now that isn't the right term ;))
Temp - A nice cool 55.643028 degrees out
Supercharger kit - RMS's ghetto kit
Mods - no extra cooling or mods (that means no exhaust )headers, cams, ect.
Tires - S0-2's 225 front 235 rear 17"s
Gearing - stock auto gearing
Is that enough to give me an aprox. of what an avg. driver might get?:dunno
Would that car beat a e46 M3 say from 25-120 given an equal start.
Thanks
SilverStreak 05-30-2003, 01:33 PM From a roll, I doubt it. From a roll the auto has a distinct disadvantage.
I'd guestimate, given those smart-assed parameters above ;) about 1-1.5 seconds off the stock Auto M3 1/4 mile time, and maybe 7-10 mph in the traps.
So what's a stock E36 M3 Auto run the 1.4 mile in, mid to low 14's? Maybe mid to low 13's with an s/c...
Obviously with other mods, cooling, more boost, better tires, and a decent driver, maybe, just maybe very high 12's...
I would say maybe mid to high 13s. If Paublo and his Turbo car are doing low 13s, I doubt a poorly setup automatic M3 is going to get anywhere near that.
SilverStreak 05-30-2003, 02:07 PM Greg, keep mind where Pablo was running, the air density, temps, humidity, elevation, etc...
I mean my Z3 3.0 bone stock down to the tires was running 13.8's up here at a sea level track with only 198 rwhp...
332 RustBucket 05-30-2003, 02:16 PM I think that Paublo has problems b/c he can't catch. Too much power;)
I was just curious because I had this old gent who thought that he could be be in my 332. I swore he couldn't. I am going to have to go to his store (I know where he works) and slap him in his face and say "Let's get it on!!!!!!!" He def wanted to race. I would have if my cyc. 3 coil wasn't unhooked :( Don't enen want to get into that one ;)
I def think that my car can take him. I just bought that 1 Psi electric supercharger which should give me the edge :) I also have a big bore throttle body which should be giving me I would think 10 hp or so. Add the supercharger to it (a bigger opening for air to get into the engine) and I should see substantial gains!!
You also have to consider how much power is absorbed by the slushbox. I can't imagine that car breaking lower than mid 13s.
Brad,
If you car is as quick as an E46 M3, you should have no sweat.
My red car with 5 speed was dead even with an E46 on a cool night. So drop in a slushbox, and you lose some juice.
I would say your fine. Just don't eat before racing him!!!
332 RustBucket 05-30-2003, 03:07 PM HaHa!!! Man, I don't know about the not eating but I will have to run him next time I see him.
Let us know. I think with your gearing, cams and the flywheel you should give him a serious run for his $. As long as you get on the gas in time!
