Hi guys,

Unfortunately, I didn't receive a response from the E39 or E46 forums so maybe someone here might be able to help me.

I completed an engine change recently, just a swap out of a M54 for another one but stupidly, I never took down the engine number.

Does anyone know where it is located on the block? Information on it's exact whereabouts could save me hours taking things apart to find it!
