I've recently changed jobs, and now have a longer commute. I bought an old E12 and I'd rather put miles on that than on a nice E31; I used the 8 as my daily with a <5 mile commute for well over a year, but now that I don't drive it as often I'd rather sell it so someone else can enjoy it.

About the car--
Alpine White II over 2-tone Grey interior. Rare 6-speed manual. Has all available options that I know of from '91, and I've added H&Rs (so far I only installed the fronts, but I am including the stock fronts and H&R rears in the sale). Interior shows minimal wear, no tears, only a few worn stitches on driver's seat and some wear on the shifter leather. I bought it last January, and like I said I have trusted it as my daily driver for over a year. It drives smooth and doesn't have any scary electrical gremlins. It never gave me any reliability problems and has been very nice for weekend road trips (it's the perfect car to cruise up the Central CA coast around Big Sur). If you're looking for an 850i you already know gas mileage isn't one of its strong points, but I have always been able to get 20mpg on the open road, and in the 10-16 range around town depending on how hard I push it. The biggest mechanical problem with the car is the sunroof is out of adjsutment or something, I have to help it along sometimes, so I just leave it closed (it seals fine, no leaks)-- although you can get plenty of airflow even without it since the car is pillarless. Mileage is just under 132,000; it IS overdue for its 120k maintenance, which is why it's priced at only $12,000. Wheels included in the sale are 4-16x8" BBS RZ from a 7-Series, and 1 stock E31 split spoke/mesh as a full size spare. There are lots of E31s for sale on Roadfly to compare to right now, but no 6-speed cars below $14k. If anyone has any questions please feel free to call me at 310.295.7138, if I don't answer leave a message and I'll call back ASAP.

Looks clean, can you email me or post the maintenance history of the car.

Thanks

I'll get the dealer maintenance history on my way home from work tomorrow (Wednesday). Like I said, it's overdue for its 120k service; to bring the maintenance back up to date, there is a shop here in Long Beach that I trust called Werkstadt West, they can do the work for quite a bit less $$ than the dealer.

I stopped by the dealer today assuming they could get maintenance records from other dealers, and apparently they can't do that. Or at least the one I went to can't. I do have a maintenance book with the owner's manual, I'll check which service intervals are stamped.

That is sex. I would love to own an E31 some day. Too into E30 right now though.
