View Full Version : Preview of the all-new UUC/Corsa FULL CAT-BACK exhaust system!

Final count-down... the long-awaited replacement for UUC's legendary Rasp-X and rear muffler will be available very soon (projected 7/7/08 availability)!
Answers to the expected questions...
1) This is an under-car system, an integrated design combining both section 2 of the midpipe and rear muffler.
2) Quad 3.5" double-walled Corsa "Pro Series" tips.
3) Dyno sheets from production version to be posted ASAP.
4) Price: complete system only a little more than the price of the Rasp-X alone... 303-grade "true stainless" at the price of economy 404-grade "stain resistant" systems.
5) 100% made in USA.
6) Complete bolt-on, no cutting or welding.
Now, the good stuff!
Fast-forward to 2:19 for some revving/accelerating

bemve 06-16-2008, 10:05 PM Very nice. Looking forward to this.
I wasn't really able to see the tips and how they look.
Maybe we could get some pictures when available.
Rob Levinson 06-16-2008, 10:06 PM Thanks!
More pics coming!

Significant! All specs will be posted at the same time.

jaramill 06-18-2008, 03:06 PM You know I was WONDERING why there were no exhausts or rasp-pipes available for sale for the E46 M3 (I just bought one after selling my E36 M3) on their website. My other alternatives were a used Larini cat-back or Eisenmann but good to know UUC has a full-system available.
tenfifteen 06-18-2008, 03:17 PM N54 sounds phenomenal. S54... still a little rasp there, no? A little thin sounding for my taste, but if the price is right and weight reduction is significant... well, I'd definitely consider it. Thanks for posting!
briansol 06-21-2008, 05:35 PM ^ agreed. I want what's on your race car. lol

Heh. That's running our regular E36 system, but no cats and full headers. A bit too loud for a street car!
We will have more "street situation" videos of the E46 M3 system up soon.

DocWyte 06-22-2008, 09:45 PM Does it drone at all? Looking for an exhaust with no droning at all, especially in the 2300-3000 rpm range.
Rob Levinson 06-23-2008, 08:47 PM Does it drone at all? Looking for an exhaust with no droning at all, especially in the 2300-3000 rpm range.
Nope! That's the hallmark of the Corsa technology... "drone free" is one of the primary design goals.

jaramill 06-23-2008, 08:58 PM So this is basically section 2 + plus the muffler correct?
Rob Levinson 06-23-2008, 09:46 PM So this is basically section 2 + plus the muffler correct?
It's the section 2 of the midpipe (everything after the manifolds) and rear muffler, all in one system. *
- Rob
* specs changed
jaramill 06-24-2008, 01:29 PM It's the entire midpipe (everything after the manifolds) and rear muffler, all in one system.
Some manufacturers are splitting the midpipe and calling it "section 1" and "section 2" - all of that is replaced by the UUC/Corsa system, plus the rear muffler section.

Sweet.....so it's one-stop shopping at UUC! No more mixing and matching section 1 from Brand X, section 2 from Brand Y, plus muffler from Brand Z. And I assume this system would still leave my California car SMOG legal correct?

Definitely smog legal.
We have a corporate policy of not affecting emissions and doing our best to keep within all legal guidelines where possible.

What a relief!! Thanks Rob. I believe Bimmerworld is the only one that makes CARB legal headers for (California), so combined with your system, that would make a nice sweet sounding M3 with some added HP to boot. Look forward to it when it comes out. Any ballpark dates on a "for sale" to the public?

Hmmmm... not that I am aware of. Any true "header" for the E46 M3 eliminates the cats and is clearly in violation in any state with emissions laws that follow the Federal guidelines.
And even in states without emissions testing/inspection, removing the cats is just environmentally irresponsible.

I hesitate to post an exact date, because there's always something that causes a delay. Design is done, tooling is set up, production is under way. Does that mean product available within two weeks? It might. :D

Just checked their site (as well as Turner Motorsports) and I guess it's not there or they removed the advertising that it was CARB legal, but I do swear I saw it online. But yes I agree. I'm more searching for a sweet spot sound (increase in HP is a secondary goal). But yes having my car still CARB legal is non-negotiable with any exhaust system.

Oh I was assuming 2 months (or end of summer, beginning of fall). I know how things can go wrong and dates pushed back so no worries on committing to a date publicly on Bimmerforums :)
DR. Dre 06-30-2008, 09:31 PM Why do people ask, about weight reduction on an exhaust. Unless you're in a race car 50 pounds less weight will not make a difference.
04LSBM3 06-30-2008, 11:18 PM Why do people ask, about weight reduction on an exhaust. Unless you're in a race car 50 pounds less weight will not make a difference.
I'll take weight reduction anyday whether it is 1lb or 100, it is just the engineer in me.
I dont make upgrades to stay the same as stock, it is a waste of money to do so. Also I do not make upgrades to components that only offer one benefit to their exhaust (increase power) when there are other companies that offer 2 benefits (increase power and reduced weight).
I'll add a cavet to that, it also has to make financial sense, if customer X's product is 20 hp increase and 60 lbs decrease for $3000 and customer Y is 22hp/63lbs and is $6000 well.... I am going with X's
Rob Levinson 07-01-2008, 09:46 AM Why do people ask, about weight reduction on an exhaust. Unless you're in a race car 50 pounds less weight will not make a difference.
Many M3 owners use their M3 as designed... for track days / HPDEs, etc. even if they are not actual racecars. And of course, that's where the majority of BMW CCA Club Racers come from... HPDE enthusiasts who went to the next level.
Dropping moderate amounts of weight in many points of the car is cumulative, adding up to noticeable improvements both on the track and on the street.

I am one of the many e46 M3 owners who do as above, use my car for track days and HPDE. I love my M3, but the only complaint I have about it, even on the street, but certainly on the track, is that it is just too damn heavy. If it were 500 pounds lighter, it would be epic, as opposed to what it is now, just fantastic!
The factory muffler alone weighs 55+ pounds. Cutting that in half---from behind the rear axle, makes a HUGE handling difference.
So what happened to this product? Is it still coming?
Rob Levinson 08-25-2008, 03:35 PM So what happened to this product? Is it still coming?
Still coming. Production scheduling delay in Ohio. Should be ready very, very soon.

Your timing is perfect... just finished setting it up in the database!

On-car pics coming to be uploaded ASAP.
We've been doing our best to murder this pricing, cut it down as much as possible, slash it until it screams for mercy. Applied the full Hannibal Lechter treatment to it.
As a reminder, the new UUC/Corsa RSCE46M3 (#14562) system is an under-car exhaust. It includes what is commonly referred to as "section 2" and the rear muffler. Catalytic converters are unaffected, the car is still 100% emissions-legal.
Regular price on the system is $1299.
We're doing a short intro special, only $1199.

gmhdry 10-05-2008, 02:23 PM Rob,
Still at reduced 'intro' price?
Rob Levinson 10-05-2008, 04:27 PM Rob,
Still at reduced 'intro' price?
Yes and no...
The intro price is over, but there is a current promotion on all of our Corsa exhausts, which results in the same price. Basically, the intro price was effectively extended. Details here:
