Hey,

My name is Brandon and this is my first post on the bimmerforums :D. But I bought my 1997 318i in my junior year of high school (2005) and now that I have a good job I was looking to do a few things to it (cosmetic mostly, seeing as my little four cylinder won't be able to run with the big boys :/) but, anyway, I am going to get a sound system first. I have everything just fine (thanks to Crutchfield dot com) but I forgot what I needed to purchase in order to get my new deck to work. I think it's an OEM switch or something (don't yell im just learning :)) Thanks for the help in advance

I'LL TRY NOT TO YELL.

Not sure exactly what you mean. You've got an e36 and the headunit should come with a metal cage that you fit into the dash. The only other thing you might need is a wiring harness - otherwise you can wire it up yourself if you know how to trace the factory wiring.

If you're adding amps / subs then run a remote on wire and some RCAs to the boot while you're doing it.

OK ...I'm with Rogan ...I'm not yelling. Crotchfield is a JOKE and a waste of time and full of misinformation.

Isn't there a problem with this statement ...you have EVERYTHING ...except for those things you don't have. So ....Crotchfield didn't do their job ....as usual.

okay, so i did a little more research and I have one crucial question. I am running one 1200 watt amp to two 10" subs and what not. I bought an aftermarket deck as well. However, i do NOT have a separate amp to run to my factory speakers. My question is do I need to buy a separate amp for the speakers and what is this I hear about a PC OEM-2? Is it necessary? or will everything work fine?
