Drove an 06 550i yesterday and loved it but there's one problem...the rear seat backs are bit too erect for my taste for longer drives..I think the 750i would solve that problem but the weight might slow down the car a little bit,is that correct ?
What options are available in '06-'07 model year ?

Unless you get the 760Li, (or maybe the option for reclining rear seats in the 750), its hard to tell if the problem is solved. The rear seats in my 06 750li are still pretty upright, my front seats are reclined back more.

If I were you, I would actually sit in the 750i and see how the seats feel, also, if you carry passengers a lot in the back, the longer 750Li is much better. It gives more than 5 inches of extra legroom back there making it feel like a limo.

Oh and yes, the 550 and 750 share the same engine, but the extra size and weight of the 7 should make it about a half a second slower to 60, but they are both very quick.

The 7 is just a bigger smoother cruiser.

I want kids to be able to relax in the back seats then sitting up right and i didn't think they made 750 Li in this new body style,guess i was wrong ? So there's an option of reclining rear seats in 750 ( i/Li ) ?

Not sure why they wouldnt make one, BMW has always offered both the standard and long versions of the 7 series. The 760i might be rare or not offered but the 750i, 750Li and 760Li are currently in production and available.

Dont know about the option for reclining the rear seats, I know the 760 has them but it might be a package for the 750, more info at www.bmwusa.com

Rear comfort seats are an option on the '04+ 745/750Li. My new-to-me '06 750Li has them, they are *very* comfortable, allow the kids to really lay back pretty nicely. The heating and cooling are nice too. Combine with rear entertainment and you'll never know they're back there :)
