Hi all, I have a two barrel weber on my 2002, I bought it with it. I was wondering, do you all recommend the solex original carburetor or just to keep the one I have on now? Are there any differences?

i believe the orig solex was single???? not sure though. i know they orig came with single.... and a double is way way way better. more hp etc. don't switch. not worth it.
now if you were going to dual side carbs......... mmm then it'd be so worth it :D. keep your weber double barrle

The most common 02 upgrade on later model 02s was to change the Solex 2bbl to the Weber 2bbl. The Solex seemed to have some inate problems, and the Weber solved those, while being a superior carb. Keep the Weber. The older Solex 1 bbls were very good carbs, smooth and trouble free.

I change my Solex 1bbl for a Weber, what a difference.

yes keep the dgav on there. great carb not a lot of problems. dual sides is fun but requires a little more upkeep. some times i wish i hadnt converted to dual webbers. dgav down draft- great carb!!!

so you guys wouldn't recommend switching my 2 barrel weber to a single barrel solex? Would my MPG increase if I went back?

Your 76 02 came stock with a Solex 32/32 DIDTA 2 bbl. If you were to change to a Solex 1 bbl you will need to find a the proper manifold, as the one you have on the car will not work. Keep the 32/36, it is a progressive setup and in normal driving for the most part you are only using the primary bbl. The secondary is not in play unless you really put your foot into it.

Agree with thep post above. Not only would you have to buy parts, the mileage on the Solex really isn't better than the 32/36 if you keep your foot out of it. I have a bit of a lead foot and I get around 24 mpg city and 30 or so highway.
