I need to change my carburetor, planning for a 32/36 or 38, but for my car
(1970 – 1bbl - manual chock) I need to change the manifold also,

check some place on the web is $500 to $600 + installation 400.00

I don’t know if is worth it or just by the Weber 1bbl for $160.00

Any advice

Buy used and install it yourself. A friend of mine has a manifold, I told him to bore it out for a 38 and sell it but he hasn't dont it yet.

I got a used 32/36 wit manifold for $110 shipped. I then bought a rebuild kit and air filter from Bav Auto for $60. So for under $200 I got a nice setup. I saw a big performance increase from the Solex to the Weber.

not really. More with the amount of footpounds distributed to the accelerator.

there's a recent rebuild on ebay,- starting at a $Benjamin.

No bids when I saw it. I think it's an electric pump 38.

Maybe a dumb question but how reliable is a rebuilt carb...I have a 2 barrel solex that I am thinking of swapping out. Thanks

they can be reliable as new. Guess it mostly depends on who did the rebuild and if they cut corners. Your solex might be a 32/32 and a 32/36 would be noticeable pretty quick.

If you don't want to put it on yourself. That price sounds in the ball park. Best thing to do is get some 2002 Bimmer buds. you are in SF thats were most 2002 guys/gals are. Look deep on the NET. FAQ is the shizzzzzzn.

I just checked my mileage with the 32/36 weber and I'm getting 29mpg. That's also driving the way a 2002 should drive. Once I put my 5-spd in it should go up for the highway driving.

A brand new weber 32/36 from bavarian auto is $400.

Not sure how hard it would be to install, but with a brand new unit, at least you'll have peace of mind.

Hi All

I check the price for a 32/36 or 38 + manifold + installation = NOT WORTH IT,

Just got a new 34 ICH + Chrome air filter + installation = 200.00:alright

Until I do engine swap will be OK

To put things into perspective, I would sell you my whole car with a rebuilt engine 1975 M10 and 32/36 weber for $1000. It would also come with a 5 speed.
