ok. i have had this problem for over a year and have just lived with it. my screen has gone out on me. radio/cd works. but will only stay on for about 1.5 minutes. after which it turns off. i press the knob to turn radio off and then press again and radio plays. last year, i did buy another "unit" (i forgot what it is called) off of ebay. that did not fix the problem. help please.

I'd say it was a low battery, maybe the alternator going, but not if you've had the symptoms for a year. You might try charging the battery anyway because it sounds like after the battery uses most of its power to start the car, there isn't any left to power the accessories. And then after it's been running awhile the battery is charged again. How long have you owned the car and I assume it worked at one time?

just replaced the battery a month ago....so another post saying possibly a blown R3 BUS fuse....what is that and where is it??

I don't think it's a fuse if the does come on at all. I'm not sure why the screen would never come unless it has it's own fuse but wouldn't explain the radio. There are some fuses under the hood and some in the trunk by the battery. I'm not sure where a specific r3 bus fuse.

maybe the r3 bus fuse has nothing to do with it. i've looked at all fuses that i know of. they appear fine. last summer i spent $700 on the entire unit....thought maybe the screen was shot. cd changer still works. i hear the nav cd running.

Have you checked the connections behind the MID panel? It could be a lose cable?
