Im still looking around while gathering money to repower my 88 e30, when i got thinking after looking at my Mates Altezza, Has anyone done a 3s-ge beams engine swap? they are quite a nifty eninge, but i cant find info on weather any one has done this conversion, and weather or not the speedo is also electric... Anyone know of such a conversion?

your speedo is driven by the rear differential, nothing engine/trans related there.

any reason why you'd want to use a 3s-ge vs 3s-gte?

just I dont need much more power than 200hp the GET will kill my fuel economy lol

the gte in stock form will probably have 200-220hp...but easily upgradeable later on if you want more...

I used to own a 93 MR2 Turbo...so I'm kinda partial to the gte :)

and my M40 engine yet again is only costing me more money at the moment, I acctually even thought of passing it onto someone with more money, i have diagnosed why my gearbox shudders and carrys on, the Belts need to be replaced, and the box in general needs to be reconditioned, the lowest price to recon that iv found for an m40/b18 auto box that i have found so far is about $3100 and that is a grand more that i think the car is worth!
