View Full Version : s50 swap preperation
bimmerman1982 06-05-2008, 05:14 PM I am going to do the s50 swap into my 1994 325is.
I have the s50 engine/trans and driveshaft.
I already got the s52 headers that I will be installing on the s50.
what are some other things I should do while the engine is out?
I'm thinking it's probably a good idea to replace some things while the engine is out like:
Motor mounts
Oil pan gasket
Headers
Is there anything else I am forgetting?

BigTex 06-05-2008, 06:02 PM Replacing water pump, fan clutch, T-stat & accessory belts is cheap insurance.
I'll apologize in advance for not knowing if this is a stupid question, but on other engines I've known it's smart to replace/upgrade & secure the oil pump if you take the pan off to swap the gasket. Anyone know if that's worth doing to an S50?
Take care,
Tex
