I am going to do the s50 swap into my 1994 325is.
I have the s50 engine/trans and driveshaft.

I already got the s52 headers that I will be installing on the s50.
what are some other things I should do while the engine is out?

I'm thinking it's probably a good idea to replace some things while the engine is out like:

Motor mounts

Oil pan gasket

Headers

Is there anything else I am forgetting?

Replacing water pump, fan clutch, T-stat & accessory belts is cheap insurance.

I'll apologize in advance for not knowing if this is a stupid question, but on other engines I've known it's smart to replace/upgrade & secure the oil pump if you take the pan off to swap the gasket. Anyone know if that's worth doing to an S50?

Take care,

Tex

if you don't mind me asking how did you get your hands on a s50 engine?

I bought it on Ebay from a totalled car.

Don't forget spark plugs and boots, oh, forget about the fan clutch, do the fan delete mod :) The clutch/flywheel should also be done too or upgraded while your there.....
