Hi guys i was was looking at this 74 2002 and i was wondering what a good price is for the car. I have not seen the car and i cant drive it, but i assume the engine needs some work and the interior and brakes...etc. The car has a 74k miles on the clock and its a manual trans. By looking at the pics what would be the a good price range? Thanks guys.

Not much in it's current state. $500 would be were I'd start. The car is going to cost you from the first time you try to take it home. Try to turn the motor over or at least take it out of gear and try to turn the fan blades.
Good luck...

as to what jimjim69 said... its a 74, it doesn't have to get smogged, his 76 on the other hand does, stay away from a 76 in cali.
anyway, yeah, $500 seems fair for what it is. and that engine bay..... wow, what kind of dust is that?

lol at jimjim saying to stay away because of smog on an exempt vehicle while offering his non exempt 76.
and to the OP. ew did those seats rust? that car is filthy. he should pay you to haul it.
if you had the budget to bring this car back to life i'd start with something better that wont give you hepatitis/black plague/etc

Check out the body for rust. The most significant cost is usually starts with having to repair body panels.
How much is the current ower asking?

"the black plauge" LOL any who, the car has no set price. This car is at a dealer only auction site, and its located somewhere in Los Angeles. I live in San diego so i cant really inspect the car (also the auctioners dont allow inspections). A buyer must bid acording to the pictures. I think this car will probably sell for like 15 dollars plus auction fees, which brings it up to about 115 plus shipping from LA to SD which is another 125. In all id be looking at around 250 to have the car in my possesion. I would like it better if it were a 73 or earlier but oh well. What do you guys think?

i think you should go for it, if you did the work to your e21 then go for it, this would be easy. if i had a chance to land a 2002 for 250$$ i would. add to my already growing collection (82 320is, 71 2002 racer :P and my truck/trailer and the mazda). go for it.
btw your e21 is sick haha.

I'd say 500-1000 just because it appears to have a clean-rust free body

wouldn't gamble more that $500 if you can't inspect. Might pay off and be a great car, but then again.....rear bumper compressed and trunk lid painted. Maybe just a quickie full paint job. Signs of poor masking on front and back. That "dust" looks like it sat a long time with the hood open or maybe it was under water for a while. Never know. $500 dollars may pay off, but wouldn't spend much more sight unseen.

Hey thanks for the compliments on my e21 :D I must say good eye on the rear bumper, I'm wondering if this car might have been crashed before. I think i will try to bid on it. If it starts to climb I'll wait until another comes along. Spending 1k on a car that, for all i know, is a piece of junk seems like too much, but like was said it could turn out to be jewel! Well thanks for all the input and i shall see what happens.
