I just had my rear brake pads replaced and the rotors machined, but the indicator light is still on. Midas did not know how to reset the computer. Does anyone know how to do this?

Wait for about 45 seconds and the brake warning message will be reset. alisahellman 06-01-2008, 03:45 PM Thanks, but I have a 2006 325i and this has the push start ignition. So I don't have the position 2 type of key. It is just a FOB. PLAYON 06-01-2008, 04:37 PM Oh damn, thats right, give me a minute. . .I try and have something up for you by early this evening. alisahellman 06-01-2008, 08:30 PM Thanks! PLAYON 06-01-2008, 09:35 PM Man I've been looking for several hours. . .I cant find anything on the e90 brake light reset. Call your dealer and see what you can do (without bringing it in). You said you did the brakes yourself right? (I'm still looking by the way) PLAYON 06-01-2008, 09:40 PM Ok alisahellman, it looks like you're going to have to replace the sensors. They are single use. They run about $12 a piece. One in front and one in back. I called one of my friends who works at a certified BMW dealership and thats your only route. Ty Vil 06-01-2008, 11:45 PM rotors should NEVER be resurfaced on a bmw either. Are you out of factory warranty? alisahellman 06-01-2008, 11:57 PM I took the car to Midas, since I am out of factory warranty and the dealer wanted almost $700 for replacements. Midas charged me almost half that and they replaced the brake pads, machined the rotors and replaced the sensor (atleast per the bill I received). So I guess my next step is to call the dealer.... Thanks for everyones help. |
