i just don't understand what the term stolen means here. if you are talking about altering a chip made by bmw as stealing,
then many are guilty.
if you are talking about buying a chip from someone that makes them
and is selling them for a cheaper price than someone else that buys them from the same person,
then i call it better pricing.
(and there is no heat for speaking your mind)

see, that's where you miss it. it's not patronage, it's morals. the chips and quotes in his ad are the originators material, not his. you feel good about doing business with a person like this? Way I see it, I stick with the individual who does honest business from his own merit, not copies from someone else. It's a moral issue and some of ours are worth more than a $100. bill.

The guy that sold you your chip used testimonials of people that bought WOKKE Chips. (RANE, PumpedTSi, etc all have WOKKE chips). I, as well as others would call that theft. He doesn't "buy" them from the "same guy" unless he is talking about the blank chips. Blatant theft!
If you think a "deal" is where you find it, I know where you can buy a brand new M6 for $500, it does have a broken window and popped ignition lock and the "owner" doesn't have a title - sounds like a deal to me..

I can see where some people might call this stealing, I would instead like to call this business. It's a capatialistic society, and every business needs to roll with punches. Competition is only natural in every industry. And only true business people realize oppertunities in competition, and can turn competition to their advantage. To buy or not to buy is complete up to the individual.

the ones i bought are 100% similar to the ones wokke sells even down to the writing.
if i would make a cheap copy i wouls stick a sticker on it and sell them. not make them look pretty.

Don't worry about others opinions! Keep posting! If you paid a $100 bucks for your car, you did better than some who have a life saving tied-up in a +10 year old vehicle.

Now what's Hard to believe is buying one of these 8 at $20K + spending $20K on it that won't/Is not worth $20K!

I am sorry! The BMW 8 series is worth more than most vehicle or has a higher salvage/residual value! But not in this automobile market (Gas prices, etc.)

I knew this would spark controversy... despite personal beliefs of leave and let lie, I must also say this is a case of morals.... The fact that the words and testiments of other fellow 8ers isn't good enough makes me wonder where you stand morally. To me, on a car that costs as much as ours, I would not hesitate (which I'm not) to spend $100 more on something I knew and trusted, versus a bogus claim that has yet to be confirmed. I would think that in this said group of people trying to help others you would be more willing to listen to what Steffan and Greg are trying to say.

Wolf will have a definite opinion on this I'd imagine. (Haven't seen him here in awhile btw) Personally I didn't even link from the OP and simply posted a comment not realizing what the controversy was. Myself I'd go first with the original Wolf/Wokke chip(s) if I didn't have a 484 DME as they are his originals. That said, I've been trying to get original RacingDynamics aero parts and have been persistent, but if they don't come up with pricing and shipping arrangements soon the copies are right down the road.

Remember you called my mechanic an asshole for taking a half of coil out of my springs??Lol..Let me tell ya..My mechanic has been building BMW race cars for over 30 yrs and winning and he's VERY WELL RESPECTED up and down the east coast..(pumped knows him).He's probally forgotten more then you'll ever know about our cars..I'm not sure but I don't think any of his Hybrids caught fire yet after all of the restoration that was done the first time out.. Maybe you should get off your high horse and get back on the porch..Like they say," If you can't say something nice , don't say anything at all".
