As I am sure a few of you have heard, there was a scammer on the boards around January who went by the handle of M6wannaBcsi. The scam (over Lamin-x) went on here, on r3vlimited, and mye28.com.

There was also a set of wheels that people were scammed over by the same users.

In both cases, users sent money and recieved no product.

Anyways, this is just background info.

M6wannaBcsi and I traded cars. I traded him my e30 for his e28. This was back in December, IIRC. It was a straight up trade, car-for-car.
The hitch was that he was waiting on the title to arrive from the DMV (he had recently bought the car, temp-tag was still on the car).
I'm a trusting guy and struck a written agreement that he would send me the title by a given date, or I would take him to court over it.

It's far past that date; I have no title.

We kept track over the phone for a few months; it took a month for the title to get into his hands.
He claimed he sent it once, but it "must have gotten lost in the mail". He had to recover the title, which was a lengthy process.
2 months later (past our agreed date), the title was "back in his hands".

I call him again and as him why he hasnt sent it; and now I get a new story.
He has the original title; it hasn't been sent by him to the DMV to begin with: it still has his written signature on it as the buyer.

We agreed once again that this time, he would write my name on the title next to his and send it to me, I would provide the bill of sale to the dmv, and attempt to register it to myself stating that the vehicle was 100% mine at that point.

Still not title.

We agreed to have the title to me by the end of Feb. I believe; I'll have to look at the bill of sale again.

We traded vehicles before the whole scam thing, so I couldn't have known about it before hand.
When I met him in person, he was a great guy, he seemed genuine and nice. Every time I called he was nice, friendly, and always wanted to converse after we talked about the title.

Now he's not answering his phone. The answering machine doesnt even sound like him. I'm guessing he's changed his number. I get no reply to calls or texts. He's no longer active on the forums, so I can't contact him that way either.

It seems I was naive.

I plan to head to the local magistrate on monday morning to file a report on it; but I figured maybe some of my fellow enthusiasts might be able to lend a hand. I need my title, I'm sure you guys understand.

Before you give me a lecture as to not buy a car without a title, I've had no problems doing such before. A bill of sale should be enough to recover it through law; so one way or another, I plan on getting it.

In short, I'm looking for someone to check out his house, atleast see if he still lives there. You should see a white e30 coupe outside... I'm assuming.

If anyone is willing to help me, I'd be more than happy to compensate you for your time.

Help an honest BMW lover get what is rightfully his. :)

Here's a pic of the e28 he owes me the title for-

Here's the e30 of mine that in essence, he's stolen from me. Even if I signed the title to him (trusting him to mail me the e28 title), I never received my 1/2 of the deal.

Didn't he have a pal on R3V that was trying to mediate for him? (& was local)

If I lived in Columbia, I would go by and have a word with him for you, but alas, I live up in Greenville.

Greenville is only an hour from columbia. I think you're too young for this though ;). I can certainly head up there at some point spastic. TheDos lives in Columbia and I plan on going there one weekend here soon to get drunk. Is that all you want is a conformation of his residency?

Well yeah, that was my main thing. If I was at least on college, I would consider it, but not now, at least by myself...

Confirmation of his residency would be great. If anyone with a local phone book could post his house number for me, that would be great.

If you're feeling up to it; I'd more than compensate you for the effort of giving a knock on the door. I'm not looking for anything other than the title. I'm not "mad" at him, and there have been no harsh words or tones between us. I dont want anyone making a confrontation they're uncomfortable with.

I'll see what I can do in the near future. I've been screwed with a car by someone in Columbia as well.... Lets just say there were no kind words...

I'm from the Columbia area, like Max said. I also have a friend who lives a few miles down the road from this guy. He is actually a member on the forums (audi5000s). I'll pm a link to this thread and see if he can do anything. If not, it looks like Max and I will have to go down and crack some skulls. :)

There was a Mazda 3 at 1127 and no e30. Directly next door there was a alpine white e30. It did not have stock wheels. It was parked behind a few cars and i couldnt really get a good look at it. It had the is lip spoiler on it.

Let me know if you need any other information. It is fairly close to my house so let me know if you need me to do anything. It was in a decent neighborhood so i dont have a problem with knocking on the door.

The e30 is mine, so that's the place. If you have no issues knocking on the door, just see if chris is there, tell him you're picking up the title for Mike Burroughs for his old black e28. I assume there won't be any issues, as I said before, he was genuinely nice. I met him, his wife, and his daughter, and he made us burgers and such before we left.

If you can get it and send it my way, I'd be more than happy to send some money your way.

Thanks for the words. Sorry if I steered you in the wrong direction; but as far as karma, I don't see how I deserved this. :(
As I said before, my experience with him in person couldn't have been better, and based on that alone, I'd still recommend him as a seller; I wouldn't have known this would happen.

Good luck on this bro, stuff like this drive me nuts.

I just dont understand, he doesnt have the car, has the title but isnt wanting his car back, it makes no sense to do this unless you just want to piss off the other person (you in this case).

What I would expect from someone like him is to come trying to get his car back because "legally" he is still the owner even if you have the bill of sale.

Unfortunately it looks like you will have to take him to court

I am getting heated just thinking about this:mad

I have knocked on his door on two separate occasions. I got no answer both times. The e30 is sitting in the driveway and has some parts scattered across the front of the house. Its a pretty easy to notice the house.

When i knocked yesterday, my friend said he could see the tv channels being changed. I dont know if they changed by themselves or if this guy is avoiding anyone that comes to the door.

Uptade.

Out of the blue Chris called today, said he got his phone turned back on and called me asap. He was overly appologetic and gave me a story about how he though another guy sent it out.

He said he's going to overnight the title and give me a tracking number in the morning. We'll see if it holds water.

I'll bet $20 he doesn't follow through with what he said.

Spastic, he still follows everything people say about him. He has some friends that report things to him as well. If you think he just thought "oh gee, I forgot to mail that title to Spastic Dwarf, I better do it soon", then your living in a dream world. This guy is career criminal as far as I'm concered.

And if you talk to him again tell him I said to fuch off.
