I still haven't tinted my windows yet because of the defroster dimples all over the rear and side windows. The areas where the tint doesn't stick looks horrible with dark tint. Has anyone been able to do the tint and not run accross this problem? My friend got his 335i tinted at the dealership and the rear window doesn't look that great.

Professional spray-on tint is the cat's meow. Films don't work, er, stick.

A little while after you get the car from tinting, The dot matrix (dimples) won't be properly flush with the film. Just go all along the dots, and press the tint down with your thumb and it will flatten. You just need to make sure it stays that way until the tint adhesive has dried.

I haven't heard of the spray on tint looking very good...maybe I'm wrong.

OK this may be the worst post ever but for those that waited for the new M3 and want everything about as close to perfect as possible here is my latest... My first tinting job I let them do the regular tint job. The side windows don't look great but they are acceptable. The rear window looked horrible with the teflon dimples. Second round on the rear window, I had them remove the tint and use a black sticker across the dimbles and tint the lower half and although its not perfect it does look much better. I am looking in to having the teflon dimples removed but if its too much money I'm going to live with what I have. Oh yeah, I did look in to a custom window with the tint in the glass and it was 4k... again sorry for this post but I'm a loser who loves his M3...

I had a tint shop do my last M3 with the dimples and they did it just fine ... no problems.
