Would a stretch look good on a 17"X7.5"? What would be the tire size for a good looking stretch? thanks

Good looking stretch is an oxy-moron. But if you really have to have it, you will likely want something like a 195/40. That rim isn't that wide and there aren't too many tire sizes that will look that stretched, a 195 or 205 is all that is really available in tires that will look bad on your wheel (whoops, I mean stretched).

Yeah I know, sorry. To each their own, if you like stretched tires then go for it; I guess I just don't understand the attraction to them.

Those have a fine offset for an E36. No need to stretch

I would just wait for money then... If there's no use in streched tires then I wouldn't do it.

With that offset you can use any 17" tire that is smaller width so no worries. I don't know what it would look like but hey it is your car so go for it...

Ok, stretch looks good, but only on flush or poked wheels. 17x7.5 et41 is incredibly sunken. It will look like trash.
7.5 is too skinny to stretch on anyways unless you want to spend more on special sized tires.

Agreed. Buy some 235/40/17 and call it a day

Unless you have (relatively) low offset wheels, stretch will look dumb.
