Yes, I searched, and I see lots of comparison between the popular brands of E36 headlights (ZKW, Apexcone, and Depo), but they all compare the entire headlight assembly, projectors and all. What I'm wondering is, if I'm just going to be retrofitting TSX projectors into my headlights, does it really matter what brand of housing I go with? Obviously build quality is a factor; I don't want pins breaking off while I install them or the lenses fogging up in 2 months. But aside from that, it seems to me like it doesn't matter who makes the glass that sits in front of the projector, right?
Thanks

ZKW are expensive so if your going to do it, do it right. Apexcones have a more sturdier housing than depos, but I think with depos, if you heat up the plastic clips they are less likely to break. Besides the plastic issue, i don't think there is any advantage to a retrofit in one over the other (apex vs depo that is).

I would suggest not using depo for a retrofit. They are very fragile and their advantages over other headlights is not worth the headache of breaking clips. Apexcone are dirt cheap and a good option for a retrofit. ZKWs are more expensive and an all around better option if you can/are willing to spend the money

OK, definitely not going with 1-pieces :-p haha thanks though.
And why do you guys maintain that ZKW is still worth the money if I'm just going to be doing a retrofit? All that will change is the plastic housing and the glass lens... :-/

better quality overall. But isn't there no more replacement lenses for zkw?
Laminx is a necessity, atleast where I live.

I'd use Apexcone housing since the plastic is stronger and more fleixble (plus they are dirt cheap)
However, I'd try and find some Depo glass lens since they seem to be a bit better polished/build quality than the Apexcone replacement lens. (Maybe from someone's busted lights, spare parts, etc.)

high beams, outer glass
I thought about it for the high beam reflectors, but I don't plan on using the highs much once I have HID :-D
Thanks, people. I'm thinking Apexcone is the way to go here.
