'95 Cosmos Black e36 ///M3 in near perfect condition.
-------- Too be completely honest Im going to list everything about this car--------

The Bad just to get it out of the way:
198k
abs code (most likely a speed sensor)
due for a timing chain
Dr. seat vader has only 1 tear on it and it's by the left shoulder
...and ummmmmmm ...that's really it!

THE GOOD:
Car was to remain stock with minor upgrades.
No leaks on motor, coolant, powersteering, brakes, or anything under the hood.
Fully charged COLD A/C for the summer
Heated White Vaders for the colder months
Fully functional sunroof w/ tilt option
Exterior is in near perfect condition with very little imperfections
Waterpump replaced w/ metal impeller with only under a 100 miles on it.
New lifetime warranty Rear shocks mounts put in less than a month ago
10 Speaker sound system with amplifier and 10 disc changer in the trunk
Spacious trunk that can fit about anything.
Z-rated 180mph+ spare tire mounted on a stock BMW DS1 style rim in trunk (unlike Vette's that don't even come with a spare tire)
All Tools in the trunk Toolkit + BMW Jack
BF Goodrich G-force tires up front (Rated #2 Best tire @97% on Tirerack right behind the other G-force tires rated #1 @ 99%)
BRAND NEW Bridgestone Potenza tires on the Rear (Never can go wrong with Potenza's for sports cars)

Just Passed Inpection and not due again until May of '09
Clean Title w/ no leans
Only 3 owners ever!
Oil changed just yesterday (5/28/08) with Mobil 1 Synthetic
Oil changed every 3k and ALWAYS with MOBIL1 Synthetic.
Only filled up with 93 octane, nothing lower.
Full BMW alarm system with EWS II Immobilization
2 BMW Keys (one with built in light)
2 Keyless Entry key FOB's w/ alarm arm/disarm buttons
1 Owner's manual binder w/ all BMW Manuals in it + more BMW information

**This car was NOT beat on, the following upgrades were for better looks and increased driver excitement when driving the car (the car has never reached the "True" Top speed and barely ever bounced off the newly increased Rev limiter**

UPGRADES:

H&R springs + Bilstein shocks (This car was aligned right after it had been lowered unlike almost ALL lowered cars out there that have way too much neg. camber that produce incredible amounts of tire wear right after they are lowered) PLUS stock M3's sit way too high and should have come lower from the factory. This upgrade reduces the gap between the front wheel and front fender.

UUC EVO 3 Short-throw shifter (valued at nearly $400)
+
NEW M3 shift knob with M3 logo on it
....This perfect combination makes the driver a better driver by not having to worry about sloppy shifts or blowing the engine by overrevving by going into a lower gear PLUS the drive is much more enjoyable by having a solid shift everytime!!

Conforti Performance chip ...best chip you can get on the market made by Mr. Conforti himself. Increases the Redline past 7000 RPM and deletes the 137mph speed governor so the "True" topspeed of the car can be reached

K&N Air filter

Hollowed out straight piped M3 stock exhaust.
----The '95 (OBD 1) M3's had one thing that restricted they're power.... the stock exhaust. The Catalytic Converter pinched off the flow of the exhaust preventing the car from breathing better. In this M3, the catalytic converters were hollowed out to allow the engine to breath better by letting free the exhaust gasses so it can take in more air and produce more power. It still looks completely stock and sounds stock until it warms up and then it produces an amazing Racecar like sound when you rev it and it still passes inspection since it is OBD1 !!!----

Yes the shock tower was fixed with an OEM BMW piece and the shock mounts were replaced with a lifetime warranty set.

This would be a good start on a track car!

It's already setup to be a perfect autocross car with the Conforti performance chip, the UUC short-throw shifter, and the the perfectly matched suspension. I would not disagree with him ^ to say its a perfect start to a track car.

If it wasn't a '98 or I had the pricey BMW tools to diagnose it I would but that's why I like sticking with the '95 M3's. They dont require the expensive tools to fix them so I dont have to go to the dealership everytime I forget to tighten the gas cap and the C.E.Light comes on. Thanks tho :)

That's an odd reason. For anything electronic in a '95, you still need a dedicated BMW code reader.

The advantage with OBD-II is that even a cheapie generic scan tool will tell you 90% of the problems.

E36s are not known to have any wacky problems specifically with the OBD-II system, so I really would not think of that as a concern...

... unlike the Nissan pickup I used to have, which cost me hundreds of dollars to track down a dead spider stuck in a vapor recovery line!

No, you dont need any electronic tools to read engine codes off a pre '96 car. Just a foot to press the pedal so the car can give you the morse code to identify the engine code which you look up after in the Bentley manual or online. .......Aww the beauty of OBD1
