s52e368 05-28-2008, 10:59 AM any of you guys running the the 3 wire OEM Bosch ICV via the 2 wire conversion from VIC ?
need some help setting it up.
ive got a reliable map without it, but im working on another with the ICV for A/C and aux purposes.
ive tried setting it up per ELECTRO manual and can get her to run/idle pretty good, but on decel she'll stall and on start the RPM shoots to about 3k. any pointers or starting values anyone can share? and yes ive tried vic.

a32guy 05-29-2008, 08:56 AM oh hai :)
Someone help this man!
a32guy 05-29-2008, 08:57 AM Carl, what kind of AFRs are you seeing at idle? And can you post up your fuel map?
Thx.

about 13.2 on average. every once and awhile she'll go to 12.8 but lean out.
im thinking of ditching the ICV completely since i cant get a good result with it or any feedback, but im concerned about the AC.
im currently running a map without an ICV. i idle about 750 +/- when the AC kicks on she stalls.
ill try and post the map tonight im on a mac currently.
I am not running a TEC3R, but I am using a GM stepper motor in a closed loop setup on my car with great results. I am fairly sure the TEC has this functionality also. The stepper motor valves seem to be much easier to get to work reliably/repeatably also.
I basically tell the 882C what idle RPM at what water temp and it does it, no fussing with duty cycle etc.
May be something to look into.
a32guy 05-29-2008, 09:33 AM I'm wondering if you have enough fuel around 80 - 90 kpa, 500rpm... When the revs dip real low and the idle valve tries to recover, this is likely the area your map will be pulling from. I just want to see what the values look like compared to your idle area.
jmargo 05-29-2008, 10:55 AM Vic just redid the idle map for me a few months back...I'll post it this afternoon.

s52e368 05-29-2008, 04:02 PM thanks margo ! any chance you can show me the duty cycle ? (or just post the values) and idle advance?
jmargo 05-29-2008, 04:21 PM Idle advance is 0 and 1
Duty cycle is min 85 max 220
This is for 55lb RC Eng injectors and stock fuel pump
s52e368 06-01-2008, 04:35 PM ICV update:
vic got back to me on this of friday and sent me a bin, but we're still having some problems with it. sent him a datalog this morning so we'll see.
i was getting silently frustrated with vic honestly (having never worked with him before).. my feelings towards him have changed, his life is very full with his day to day. but hes been very personable, helpful, and honest. i also dont feel like a dumbass when we speak meaning i dont get the elitist attitude from him like ive seen/heard from other tuners. i recommend his services to anyone!
but in the interim of all this ICV tuning ive been playing with a map without (the one ive been using) i got a nice result today.. smooth 950 rpm at idle with a 14 afr

jmargo 06-01-2008, 05:15 PM Yes Vic is very busy. Every time I go over there his phone is constatly ringing.
